Sounds fun, up until the running bit... Though could definitely be a laugh. Sod anyone trying to speed me up with paintballs or anything, that's the sort of shit that tends to make me inform them I'm an adult, and they can get fucked if they think I'm going to go any faster than I'm comfortable with, and if they shoot me again I'm breaking their gun.TNT wrote: Tue Jun 30, 2020 10:23 am It's one of those (often mud-based) obstacle courses that have grown popular in the past few years, they're a fun day out in a group, and you get to visit the landscape from up close. They're 8-10km runs with natural and man-made obstacles in there: rivers to cross, bogs to waddle through, swinging ropes (above more mud pits), electric wires to crawl under, or an open run with an organiser shooting at your ankles with paintballs. We do this specific one every year with the GAA club, so we're a bunch of unfit coaches and parents, with of course a few players from the current senior team putting us to shame.![]()
Well, it's a pretty short sprint to be fair, and they guy tends to aim slightly away from you, it's a rather chill event and you can skip any obstacle you don't feel like tackling. Mind you, that was still enough to kill me the first year as I developed a cramp in the calf half-way through the course, and was careful not to reignite it afterwards. That was until the paintball sprint as I stupidly reacted to a nearby shot by jumping up and bending the knee leg away from the ground, the calf muscle locking up again. I made it to the woods but bloody hell, did it hurt.Raggs wrote: Tue Jun 30, 2020 10:25 amSounds fun, up until the running bit... Though could definitely be a laugh. Actually it's a plait, it's just not obvious as it's on the other side. I generally sport the untied hair caveman look, but this is the best way to get the hair tight and out of the face when mucking through that stuff.
Well it ain't the Clyde or the Solway, you can see!
She was gorgeous!
Not far off though!
That wasn't Bearnise sauce btw..Enjoy..
Very cool pic!
You and I will get on just fine.
