With DMac going to Suntory next season, anyone tell me what NZRFU's selection policy is on players based overseas?

They don't pick them.

They have to move back to NZ and be playing rugby domestically to be available for selection for the ABs.

Cheers. Big call by Dmac then with RWC round the corner.

I don't think he warrants AB selection anyway. He's more of a liability than an asset.

How many contender ABs will be in Japan next year (or anywhere that is not NZ)?

He’s signed for the 2021-22 season?

Doesn’t it work out that you can basically play the Japan season and then be back home in time for the Soup season?

I guess but the risk is that you fall out of reckoning unless you are indispensable?

They don't seem too stressed about it

It's viewed as the "safe" way for ABs to earn some extra cash without being too far away or too overworked.

None whatsoever Torq. He's not big to begin with and their diet does not lead to weight gains.

Willie, Mapimpi, Kriel, Kwagga, PSdT, Mostert, Marx play in Japan.

Thought NZ allow their players to play there?

What’s the scoop on Aus losing their Japan based players for the autumn Intl tour?

Seemed to really screw up their results after the RC

Seems like SA got theirs released?

I wonder if the USA will ever become a similar destination. There is a mini-flood of Saffers heading for the USA at the moment. No big names but some significant up and comers.
