Just seem on Twitter that Bradbury won MoM v the Dragons and carried 15 times for 127m. Also two turnovers. Few things would make me happier than that man regaining his best form.
It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom - for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.
He definitely looks angrier and more determined than I’ve seen him before. Hopefully a turning point
All the money you made will never buy back your soul
I thought Shane Williams gave player of the match to Luke Crosbie?
All three backrow starters were very good, Maggie and Crosbie outstanding.
Btw, watching it back again I heard Shane Williams say something along the lines of, “I’d have loved to play in that Edinburgh back three”
Praise doesn’t come much higher than that

Saw a link on Twitter to this article from the Times about Cam Redpath (seems not to be paywalled, for me at least?):

Good news - he’s hoping to get the go-ahead to return to full training very soon. Also clears up what was going on with the mystery injury that kept him out of the 6N post Twickenham (apparently he had a disc problem in his neck, and essentially played that game without full use of one arm!)

Yeah, that was me. Decided to use a different handle when we moved.
Regarding the article, I have no idea why it let me read it earlier, but it did. Paywalled now for me too, and I’m not giving any money to Murdoch.

He was the JBC Peak Performer, an award based on stats for the games. In his case 15 carries for 125 metres and 2 jackals.
I have no idea how this works and if other stats count. This is just what was on Edinburgh FB.
Yep, my mistake, sorry. JBC peak performer, not MoM. Got it from Embra Twitter. Still good news though.

Very sad news tonight that Siobhan Cattigan a member of the Womens national side had passed away. No more been said, but the SRU have said that there are specialist employees providing ongoing support which suggests it may be sudden and a shock.
She had played as recently as the Spain win. Very sad, 26 is no age at all.

Aye I saw that.
Just awful.

Just noticed that Marc Morrison has been selected for Scotland u20. Super talent. Kicks well with both feet and has a beautiful pass. He needs to put on a couple of kgs but he has a tall frame. He was the best flyhalf in our u21 provincial competition last year imo.
I saw him play a fair bit for Watsonians in the Super 6 competition this summer - not sure if he's on the radar of either of the pro teams yet. I mostly couldn't get over how skinny and ungainly he looked.FalseBayFC wrote: ↑Wed Dec 01, 2021 7:31 am Just noticed that Marc Morrison has been selected for Scotland u20. Super talent. Yeah, his dad is Scottish. He was over here a few years ago to play in trial matches to try to win an academy deal as I believe he wasn't offered the equivalent in SA? As far as I know they didn't make an offer, but he must have been very young at that point if he is still in the U20 age-group.FalseBayFC wrote: ↑Wed Dec 01, 2021 7:31 am Just noticed that Marc Morrison has been selected for Scotland u20. Edit: Just googled him and he was signed by Watsonians. Not a name I was looking out for but I don't recall much chat about him in the Super6...

Yes he has a Larkham like quality about him. He always seems to have a lot of time on the ball. Gets his backline going nicely. Went to the same school as Bryan Habana, Malcolm Marx and ex Protea captain Graeme Smith. In that case he was kept out of the squad by Ross Thomson, who is now going very well at Glasgow, and Callum McLelland, who was already on a pro contract with Edinburgh at the time but has since gone back to playing rugby league.FalseBayFC wrote: ↑Wed Dec 01, 2021 10:37 amYes my bad. Someone retweeted something from January 2018 when Morrison was invited to the Scotland u20 trials for the JWC that year. He didn't make the squad.

I wasn't sure on him at all. Don't think he was helped by Watsonians not playing the expansive rugby the other teams did. However, he was clearly a step behind Tom Jordan of the Bulls and now Glasgow and Jason Baggott who couldn't make it stick with Edinburgh but in his defence never got a game.
He did make the Super6 a bit more interesting though a good few running 10s that's what we need for the league to work.

JP du Preez. Looks like an off-the-shelf Saffer lock behemoth. Welcome to Scotstoun. Boet.
Richie Gray is out of contract next year, right? Probably a like-for-like (but younger and cheaper) replacement.clydecloggie wrote: ↑Thu Dec 02, 2021 10:25 am

100th appearance for Bradbury
The 14-times capped Scotland international becomes Edinburgh Rugby’s 36th club centurion and joins former capital back-row greats Simon Taylor, Ally Hogg and Roddy Grant in reaching the historic milestone.
Good company to keep.

He's 27 next year, so just coming into his prime. There are plenty of players who manage to go up a level in that 27/28-31/32 age bracket, I still really want him to be one of them.Tichtheid wrote: ↑Thu Dec 02, 2021 1:13 pm

I remember when all the talk was about Jamie Ritchie, future Scotland captain etc when he was 18 years old, but Bradbury was the one who stepped up to pro rugby quicker, obviously there is a difference in their builds (and a year in their ages). Maggie was on a good trajectory until the injury sustained in a barnstorming performance against Toulon. I feel he struggled to regain the consistency of form he was in at that point.
When he's on song he's the obvious answer to Scotland's No. 8 problem, he just needs to up the work rate and keep the focus.
It was interesting that Haining packed down at 8 for attacking scrums last week whilst Bradbury played there on Dragons' ball. They both had good games, as did Crosbie, but there are much sterner tests ahead.

That is interesting, I didn't notice that. I think there is a lot of blurring of lines in terms of the role of each position these days. All the back row, for instance, are now expected to be able to catch, run, pass, carry, jackle, tackle etc., although there is clearly still room for specialists too. If Bradbury can find his form, regardless of at 6 or 8, he can help add that hard carrying to our game that we currently lack.Tichtheid wrote: ↑Fri Dec 03, 2021 9:38 amKingBlairhorn wrote: ↑Fri Dec 03, 2021 9:02 amHe's 27 next year, so just coming into his prime. True, but they weren't easy ones.
The ref is quite whistle happy against the attacking team at the breakdown, which isn't helping Edinburgh.

Another MOTM performance from Bradbury. He looks like he might have dropped a bit of weight to me, I wonder if that has helped his game.
Kinghorn very good, Hodgson excellent, Vellacott very good, Currie quietly excellent. This Edinburgh team has a lot to like about it.

Good to get the 5 points.
Hopefully the injuries aren't too bad. I fear Mata got a bad one.
Edinburgh lost control after the Hoyland injury. I think Blair got that wrong by moving Kinghorn and disrupting the game. Any side can't have a winger injury meaning your play maker gets punted off to the wing.

Agree with that. I'm not sure GG will be keeping the young uns out of making a partnership for long. Hodgson and Sykes make a good pair IMO.KingBlairhorn wrote: ↑Fri Dec 03, 2021 9:31 pm Another MOTM performance from Bradbury.
