Bordeaux has a very good pack! They annihilated Racing a week ago in Paris. And Leicester did have the edge over Bordeaux in the tight: albeit the early yellow assisted that.petej wrote: Sun Dec 12, 2021 1:19 pm
Not convinced they would. Leicester didn't brutalise Bordeaux and only did well when they kept the tempo higher and moved Bordeaux around, arguably Leicester struggled once they retreated into more limited/attritional rugby.

Veaniu has been o/s for Paris this season and surprised to see him risked in this game.

Wasps revised team after the last round of testing.
OUT (yet more seasoned Prem players):
Jacob Umaga, Sebastian De Chaves, Tom Willis, Elliott Stooke, Francois Hougaard
IN (recent academy grads with basically no appearances and loaner):
Luke Mehson, Michael Van Vuuren, Kieran Curran, Tommy Mathews, Cameron Anderson
Tim Cardall is now the only second row in the whole squad.
We're totally going to lose this.
Also, that's some injury list!
Unavailable through injury (17): Charlie Atkinson, Ali Crossdale, Tom Cruse, Malakai Fekitoa, Vaea Fifita, James Gaskell, Ben Harris, Joe Launchbury, Rob Miller, Ryan Mills, Ben Morris, Paolo Odogwu, Dan Robson, Will Simonds, Sam Spink, Theo Vukasinovic, Jack Willis.

Plus Alex McHenry simply 'unavailable'. As he's currently on loan with us from Munster I don't know if there are some EPCR regs that mean he can't play against his parent club or perhaps we didn't register him for Europe thinking that by now we'd have some options that wouldn't require moving Bassett to 13.Niegs wrote: Sun Dec 12, 2021 1:35 pmIt's a wonder how some have caught it and others haven't?sockwithaticket wrote: Sun Dec 12, 2021 12:14 pm Covid strikes again!

That's a typical Sportsground moment
Sanchez kicks from his on 10m, misses touch; & the return kick is a 50-22, inside the Stade 22

Sale have consistently dreadful discipline, penalties have done a lot to give Ospreys a lifeline in this game.

36 - 9 FT in Galway
SF made as many mistakes as it's possible to make in 80+ minutes. They had more than enough power, & possession to make a game of it; but somehow never really were.

Were never interested from the moment the team sheet was announced. Unclear to me how Quesada still has a job. Highest budget in T14 and fighting relegation.fishfoodie wrote: Sun Dec 12, 2021 2:47 pm 36 - 9 FT in Galway

That certainly doesn't help (goodness knows how they would've fared with Jono Ross on the field today), but its been part of their club DNA since before the influx. It's just gotten even worse with their addition.Torquemada 1420 wrote: Sun Dec 12, 2021 3:05 pmToo many thick safas.sockwithaticket wrote: Sun Dec 12, 2021 2:25 pm Sale have consistently dreadful discipline, penalties have done a lot to give Ospreys a lifeline in this game.

I don't know about pumped, but I'd say it's a 90% chance we lose.
Which one is more likely to be a good contest wasps vs munster or La Rochelle vs glasgow?sockwithaticket wrote: Sun Dec 12, 2021 3:13 pmThat certainly doesn't help (goodness knows how they would've fared with Jono Ross on the field today), but its been part of their club DNA since before the influx. Afraid I couldn't possibly say. I don't know enough about the teams in the latter fixture.petej wrote: Sun Dec 12, 2021 3:17 pmWhich one is more likely to be a good contest wasps vs munster or La Rochelle vs glasgow?sockwithaticket wrote: Sun Dec 12, 2021 3:13 pmThat certainly doesn't help (goodness knows how they would've fared with Jono Ross on the field today), but its been part of their club DNA since before the influx. Same old story for LaR. Until they get a decent pair of 1/2 backs, everything else will be for naught.

He and Porter are scrapping to establish 3rd choice at the moment, but in the absence of Hougaard and Robson it's a bit moot.Kawazaki wrote: Sun Dec 12, 2021 3:30 pm Christ, just turned on the Wasps game. Who on earth is the Wasps scrumhalf, is he a competition winner?

Ugh, I hate how messy non-Prem refs allow the breakdown to be.
Is he? I thought he was clearly 4th choice, with Porter and Hougaard fighting over the other two behind robson.sockwithaticket wrote: Sun Dec 12, 2021 3:38 pmHe and Porter are scrapping to establish 3rd choice at the moment, but in the absence of Hougaard and Robson it's a bit moot.Kawazaki wrote: Sun Dec 12, 2021 3:30 pm Christ, just turned on the Wasps game. Just give him a YC; & lets get on with the game
Last couple of games has Porter starting, Wusty on the bench...sockwithaticket wrote: Sun Dec 12, 2021 3:42 pmHe's been selected ahead of Porter the last couple of games.Raggs wrote: Sun Dec 12, 2021 3:39 pmIs he? I wouldn't say it was jokeshop; but it does show the impossible place the laws put refs; when they can't think about intent; but only outcome.
I think he started the prem cup games.sockwithaticket wrote: Sun Dec 12, 2021 3:47 pmMy mistake. I could've sword I'd sene him starting Prem fixtures.Raggs wrote: Sun Dec 12, 2021 3:45 pmLast couple of games has Porter starting, Wusty on the bench...sockwithaticket wrote: Sun Dec 12, 2021 3:42 pm
