Anyone watching Wheel of Time?
Two episodes in. It's a bit shonky in places but I was expecting an unwatchable disaster and it's a good bit away from that.

It could be shite casting for all I know, but it doesn't matter. Danielle Pineda is a babe.tabascoboy wrote: ↑Tue Nov 30, 2021 12:00 pm

I did the same. Spanish is a great language to swear inFalseBayFC wrote: ↑Mon Nov 29, 2021 6:54 am My family know exactly when I'm binge watching the latest Narcos because I start muttering Mexican Spanish curse words. Chingar! Puta madre! And then tell them to tranquilo if they say anything.

Final season? Heavy TV spoiler from books - do not read if you haven't read 'Babylon's Ashes'
Spoiler
Show
So they will tie up the story with the end of the Free Navy and apparent death of Marcos. I have 'Persepolis Rising' but don't know where they are going with the story from there
Watched it. Was ok, but not a lot of movement in E1. But think it’s probably worth saving it up for a binge.

Finished Season 2 of Manhunt with Martin Clunes who is top notch again. I really like the 4 episode format. Its a seriously accomplished piece of TV.

No longer subscribe to Now TV so don't have the chance to watch it any more...but do miss it
Yeah.. I only manged to tolerate it for a few episodes... just an annoying show...
It is... helps that it's based on real events. But very well done... proof you don't need silly Line of Duty twists to make crime shows watchable...FalseBayFC wrote: ↑Sun Dec 12, 2021 8:18 am Finished Season 2 of Manhunt with Martin Clunes who is top notch again. Didn’t rate line of duty much. Good enough for season 1, but was meh.Grandpa wrote: ↑Sun Dec 12, 2021 10:19 pmIt is... helps that it's based on real events. Manhunt seems alright, actually watching it (season 2) right now. No idea how, but I never recalled the night stalker on local news at the time. Especially odd given how prolific this guy seems to be just watching it now.
Have you watched the Stephen Lawrence one with Steve Coogan? Also very good.Ymx wrote: ↑Sun Dec 12, 2021 10:33 pmDidn’t rate line of duty much. It also made me think about how much easier it would be to catch violent crims if there was a database of every adult's DNA. In third world South Africa we have fairly advanced biometrics of every citizen. I took my daughter in to get her ID card yesterday and they took all her fingerprints. DNA would be easy to take but I guess quite expensive to process.Ymx wrote: ↑Sun Dec 12, 2021 10:33 pmDidn’t rate line of duty much. A lot of cold cases in the States are now being solved through familial DNA matches on genealogy websites.FalseBayFC wrote: ↑Mon Dec 13, 2021 7:49 amIt also made me think about how much easier it would be to catch violent crims if there was a database of every adult's DNA.

Working through it. Pretty good watch so far.
For anyone familiar with the Vereena + Nivellen, the show has done it quite well. Vereena is proper freaky.

Only watched the first ep so far. For those further in, have they fully dispensed with unheralded timeline jumping? That really annoyed me in season 1.
As an aside, I will always have a weakness for dark haired women with pale skin, but you know it's been a long old pandemic when you're sat there thinking 'You know, Nivellan's not wrong. I'd probably let her bite my throat too'

Is that Vereena? I can't watch the show as don't have Netflix but I remember slightly this from the books. And yes they are reported as addressing the issues fans had with the timeline jumpssockwithaticket wrote: ↑Tue Dec 21, 2021 1:49 pm Only watched the first ep so far. Thanks for that, I haven't really read much about it because I'm not a huge Witcher fan; never played the games or read the books, but I do like monsters so, as it's there and I'm still paying for Netflix, I'll watch it.
UK police used to have one the largest DNA databases in the world, but in 2013 over 7.5 m DNA samples and 1.7 m DNA profiles were removed from the database in order to protect individual rights.FalseBayFC wrote: ↑Mon Dec 13, 2021 7:49 amIt also made me think about how much easier it would be to catch violent crims if there was a database of every adult's DNA. The Yellowstone origin series 1883 is out. Sam Elliot being grizzled and awesome. Its a Larry McMurtry Lonesome Dove type Western. Very well done.

Yes, she is very savage looking on a show with a decent collect of savage looking ladies.sockwithaticket wrote: ↑Tue Dec 21, 2021 1:49 pm Only watched the first ep so far. For those further in, have they fully dispensed with unheralded timeline jumping? That really annoyed me in season 1.
