Britain’s obese population may be told to stay at home if another wave of coronavirus hits the UK, according to a report. The shocking scale of the country’s weight problem means the measure could affect 13 million adults.
This includes the obese. According to one minister, the government will politely ask Britain’s most corpulent citizens to stay at home for their own good. Perhaps recognizing how offensive such a message will sound, the minister told the Telegraph, “You can’t say that every fat person has to shield. It will be more subtle.”
Fat people to be locked down
That'll include the blonde slug of a Prme Minister of ours then? He still looks way overweight!!.Galtsdrift wrote: ↑Mon Aug 10, 2020 10:40 am Britain’s obese population may be told to stay at home if another wave of coronavirus hits the UK, according to a report. So you're running a campaign urging people who are overweight, to lose some blubber & get some exercise ...& on the other hand you plan on telling them to stay inside, & sit on their fat arses, & watch TV.
That's some quality joined up thinking !!
* I won't even mention the Government cash for takeaways .....

I hope Boris is ready to shield then, and has stocked the fridge.

There’s no cash for takeaways. There’s cash for eating in.
You can’t criticize a bloke for liking a bit of fish & chips. And the other meal clearly has a vegetable or two in it.tabascoboy wrote: ↑Mon Aug 10, 2020 12:01 pm Boris'll do OK, he's the perfect role model to promote healthy eating

He's having beans with his fry; I thought that was a shoot-on-sight offence for the English ?Sinkers wrote: ↑Mon Aug 10, 2020 12:44 pmYou can’t criticize a bloke for liking a bit of fish & chips. Where's the line going to be? With people a little overweight like Bridgen, Sharma and Buckland? Or are they hoping to make another announcement that's so vague they can say they did something even if the message isn't remotely clear enough to effect change, and then people like Francois and Coffey can rely on their own great British common sense?
They'll probably put it at a specific BMI number. And then realise that means they've banned some professional sports men and women from going outside.Rhubarb & Custard wrote: ↑Mon Aug 10, 2020 1:13 pm Where's the line going to be? Is this just the 2nd leaked report of a more drastic step which might be taken? We've had the over 50s, now we have chubby people, does this continue until the govt lands on a group where the political pushback is judged acceptable?

I'm well over 50 and would probably be considered by some (including my doctor) to be overweight.
While the pubs are open and they are paying 50% of restaurant bills do you think I'm staying in?
Not a chance!

Boris must have the kakkest "hairstyle" I have ever seen in my life. WTF do you actually call that? He doesn't comb his hair, does he? I'm surprised we haven't heard from the palace about it over the years. Old Liz must be covering her face in shame having a PM look like that.

I suspect he is rather more receding than he would like and has a thatch-over to cover it up.Amethyst wrote: ↑Mon Aug 10, 2020 7:17 pm Boris must have the kakkest "hairstyle" I have ever seen in my life. It’s a deliberate front for the ‘Boris’ character. It distracts from the policies he’s enacting. Because people talk about it instead. Like you’re doing.Amethyst wrote: ↑Mon Aug 10, 2020 7:17 pm Boris must have the kakkest "hairstyle" I have ever seen in my life. WTF do you actually call that? He doesn't comb his hair, does he? It's about 20% of the UK are obese isn't it? No chance you're locking down 20% of the population. Especially when they have work etc. Unless you're doing furlough for fatties or some such scheme.

Speaking of locking down fatties & the the at risk; how was the HoL operating during lockdown ?I like neeps wrote: ↑Mon Aug 10, 2020 8:15 pm It's about 20% of the UK are obese isn't it? This includes the obese. According to one minister, the government will politely ask Britain’s most corpulent citizens to stay at home for their own good. Perhaps recognizing how offensive such a message will sound, the minister told the Telegraph, “You can’t say that every fat person has to shield. It will be more subtle.”
Subtle enough?

Bit of a harsh way to tell your PM to lose some weight, but I can see where yo're going.MungoMan wrote: ↑Wed Aug 12, 2020 9:33 pm‘Get off the street, you fat fuck! If I could be really bothered I would post up a picture of Cyril Smith MP, with a word bubble to MungoMan, "come here and i'll sit on ya" With an added whisper "shhh clothes are optional"fishfoodie wrote: ↑Wed Aug 12, 2020 9:49 pmBit of a harsh way to tell your PM to lose some weight, but I can see where yo're going.MungoMan wrote: ↑Wed Aug 12, 2020 9:33 pm‘Get off the street, you fat fuck!
