Official United Rugby Championship thread
We need to convert the wins. I thought the Sharks discipline was outstanding first half. They obviously are adapting to the NH. We can't expect AJ and Marius to ref every game for us. Connaught got a good leg up the log and forced all our sides downward

Well that will change soon as our home matches starts next weekend.
You should stop trolling the Stormers and back all our teams to get as high as possible on that log. We need each other from now on.
The top eight sides in the table will qualify for the quarter finals, followed by semi-finals and a grand final, with teams seeded 1 to 4 with home advantage for the lowest seeded side.[3]
A total of eight sides qualify for the following season's Heineken Cup, while the remaining eight sides will play in the EPRC Challenge Cup. All points won in the competition will contribute to rankings in the regional pools, with the top side in each regional pool automatically qualifying for the Heineken Cup. The remaining four places will then go to the highest ranked teams in the main table (who haven't already qualified).

Absolutely. Sards don't understand that the $hark$ need the Saffer teams help to knock over the Irish & Scottish teams to end up as high as possible on the log to get a home venue in the play offs.
Thats exactly why I said that the other sides besides the Bulls and Sharks need to get their gat in rat......Home venue was never an issue for the Sharks........in fact sometimes its a dissadvantageOomStruisbaai wrote: ↑Mon Feb 28, 2022 12:33 pmAbsolutely. I just saw Mallett's comments.
Are all South African coaches born cunts, or is it something they learn in a school somewhere ?
I hope Blair takes him to court; & then takes him to the cleaners !
You can call the ref an arsehole; you can call the ref an idiot; you can't, not ever, call them a cheat !

I am sure Scotland have their own version of Keo and Nick Mallet.
Will be sad if I think all English are like Stephen and Eddie Jones.

Perhaps have a look at what's happening in your back yard first.

Leinster site
It has often puzzled me how the Association of Referees Leinster Branch recruit people as referees when we consider the comments and sometime abuse that is often aimed at them, which in most cases is unjustified…
We in the Leinster Rugby Referees accept that people are passionate about their teams and that is what rugby is all about. However we cannot, and will not allow the support for teams to be an excuse for unjustified and at times insulting commentary and actions.
How often have you hear people comment on the referee’s eyesight, fitness, parentage and their physical size to justify comments on what are often correct decisions that a referee takes during the game? Even if a referee’s decision is wrong, does this justify such comment? What I always say is; try and imagine yourself at the receiving end of such comments and maybe your wife, partner or children standing on the sideline watching the match, how acceptable would it be to you? We are only human. Have you ever seen a referee in any code change his decision? No. And you never will.
Aki was left furious after Raynal deemed good a last-gasp match-winning try by Leicester’s Hosea Saumaki last weekend and he confronted the official on the pitch following the full-time whistle. “That is not fair. That’s not right. That is not fair,” he said in an argument that could be heard on live TV via the mic the referee was wearing.

Look like this lot have the Premier League as example to critize referees.
Mallet lost the plot. He went full retard like our Manchild Blake, from this parish. He has lost all credibility in my eyes and must vokkof to Italyfishfoodie wrote: ↑Mon Feb 28, 2022 8:08 pm I just saw Mallett's comments.

Never mind kicking the Italians out of the 6N; if being permanently shite gets you kicked out of competitions, how much longer do the Welsh teams get in the URC ?

After dominating possession, & position for the first 25 Glasgow have now scored two quick tries, & are 14 - 8 up ... frustrating.
Still, Connacht are so much better with Carty running things.

They were awful for the first 25 mins, truly awful. Honestly not sure I’ve seen a worse pro performance from 9, 12 and 13. Then suddenly everything starting sticking

I'm going to demand a drugs test of the water bottles. It's as good an explanation as any.
They're in the box seat now, with three unanswered tries. Connacht need the hairdryer again this HT, with an emphasis on the wide defense.

FFS, have Connacht completely forgotten how to defend ?
I'd have been happy with a LBP tonight, but they're getting nowt.

We sit near the opposition players / medics etc area. I have never seen a less animated bunch than Connacht were last night. Usually those on the sidelines are giving it laldy supporting those on the pitch, so the quietness from Connacht was very noticeable.fishfoodie wrote: ↑Fri Mar 04, 2022 8:54 pm FFS, have Connacht completely forgotten how to defend ?

I'm not surprised. This will have been a game they knew they needed to get something out of, as this is a fight for a qualifying spot; & instead they got absolutely spanked.weegie01 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 05, 2022 11:05 amWe sit near the opposition players / medics etc area. Alot of hammerings this weekend. Munster on for another one against the dragons.
The welsh really need to up their games. This league is going to be the irish and a couple of SA sides, over and over and over again.
Ive no interest in that as a competition.

Shocking from the dragons. Two kick offs straight down the middle of the half way line, munster backs taking it both times with zero contest from a dragons players.

Nah, let's just play him & give him the time to develop, instead of keep picking a player whose best years are in the rear view mirror.Mr Tim Buktoo wrote: ↑Sat Mar 05, 2022 7:01 pmLets see how he does against a decent team in an important game.fishfoodie wrote: ↑Sat Mar 05, 2022 6:47 pm Casey is hammering in the nails into Murrays Careers coffin.
The league is shit. I acknowledge the league hasn't seen the best of the Saffer teams yet but still, its an absolutely dogshit product.Mr Tim Buktoo wrote: ↑Sat Mar 05, 2022 6:09 pm Alot of hammerings this weekend. Munster on for another one against the dragons.

I have no idea what the solution should be. A 2-tier BI league might work if the English decide to ringfence their top tier but that would ruin the European Cup.
The Scottish are capable when they have their internationals but the Welsh are dire, and have been for a while, as are the Italians.
Ian Madigan for Ireland.

If the welsh could ever get their shit in order then i think that would make the difference, but they havent managed it down through the years apart from brief moments with the ospreys and scarlets.Jim Lahey wrote: ↑Sat Mar 05, 2022 10:31 pmThe league is shit. The WRU need to find some way to get the fans on board , even if it means re naming the teams or whatever. The south african teams will come good, but i dont have any interest in watching a final between an irish and south african team every year.
