Sorry, just to be clear, are you saying that a) we're putting a winger in the lineout, and b) a winger is an adequate replacement for one of the biggest and strongest players in the team at the set piece that's all about those players? Because that's fucking stupid.Torquemada 1420 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 12, 2022 5:23 pmIreland don't have an extra player at the lineout just because you have a red. Your scrums have been fine so I'm not following your excuse for the maul. It was just poor body positions.

FFS, it was your lineout. Your call on the numbers. Get a grip.JM2K6 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 12, 2022 5:25 pm Sorry, just to be clear, are you saying that a) we're putting a winger in the lineout, and b) a winger is an adequate replacement for one of the biggest and strongest players in the team at the set piece that's all about those players? Ireland’s discipline is falling to pieces here. Christ, that’s an awful kick at goal there. Smith is a bit wobbly on the kicks.
Slade having a crack here. Eh, shifted forward so Smith is taking it?

You're genuinely saying that having only one lock isn't a problem because you can do a shorter lineout for a 5m catch and drive?Torquemada 1420 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 12, 2022 5:26 pmFFS, it was your lineout. Anyway, like I said, Ire managed the game badly against 13 man Italy so this should not be a surprise.
Smith has an excellent record with the boot tbh.ScarfaceClaw wrote: ↑Sat Mar 12, 2022 5:26 pm Ireland’s discipline is falling to pieces here. Christ, that’s an awful kick at goal there. Smith is a bit wobbly on the kicks.

This game is crying out for Danny Care.
Indeed. Salanya calls out this but not EnergiseR2.
England tour to SA in the 2000s when the old pros walked from scrum to scrum giving the Saffers a pasting while we lost by a cricket score seems more appropriateHal Jordan wrote: ↑Sat Mar 12, 2022 5:27 pmEngland vs Australia World Cup 2007 beats them all for scrum manshaming.

That’s what I thought but he’s looking nervous with these kicks.JM2K6 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 12, 2022 5:28 pmSmith has an excellent record with the boot tbh.ScarfaceClaw wrote: ↑Sat Mar 12, 2022 5:26 pm Ireland’s discipline is falling to pieces here. Keenan's eyes definitely too close together.
Fairly sure it was all of them. A shorter lineout for a drive makes no sense. Doubly so when doing so just exacerbates the loss of one of the biggest players in the pack, because the opposition still have both of theirs.
It was a dumb comment and this is a dumb argument, no matter what you do, not having a lock is going to damage the driving maul. It's self evident to everyone except weirdly argumentative Frenchmen.

If I'm remembering right it was the one after the 07 RWC. Strettle ended up in hospital too iirc.JM2K6 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 12, 2022 5:32 pmWas that when he ended up in hospital with illness

Simmons was straight in the side there for that cleanout.

I am picturing him sitting there in a full England kit including boots and socks. Doing the full John Terry.Deveron Boy wrote: ↑Sat Mar 12, 2022 5:32 pm Dayglo making Jiffy look like a paragon of unbiased commentary..

Have to say that’s a hell of an effort. Assume we’ll lose but can’t fault the guts
