Wouldn't be surprised to see us reverting to enhanced restrictions .... similar to May levels of lockdown
They need to get the schools opened, so now would be a good time to clip people's wings a bit and remind everyone that we're on a knife edge

200 cases - how many in hospital? That’s really the number that matters

Ah Duff!Duff Paddy wrote: ↑Sat Aug 15, 2020 5:42 pmSo why are you scaremongering
Tbf, it is increasing slowly. We're certainly not at overwhelmed stage or anywhere close but they don't seem to be just trying to keep it at a medium level if the county 'lockdowns' are anything to go by.Duff Paddy wrote: ↑Sat Aug 15, 2020 5:41 pm 200 cases - how many in hospital? I disagree.
Look at the numbers tested compared to even two weeks ago.
Then see that there is no significant rise in hospitalisations.
It would appear to me that most people are now asymptomatic to covid, and the testing is simply confirming that.
I wonder is/has the virus burnt itself out ?
Stop repeating yourself....Camroc2 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 15, 2020 7:44 pmI disagree.

I was being slightly tongue in cheek but they restricted the three counties quickly enough so I reckon we're going back a phase or so soon enough if numbers remain as bad.

Go to the daily operations drop down for today's figures.
While the overall figures aren't increasing massively, there has been a significant increase in people seeking hospital treatment since the low. What's different from before is that they don't seem to need to stay in for long and fewer ending up in ICU. Although we've still gone from a low of 1 (could have been 2) on ventilators to 5 in the last two weeks.

It seems to be more like a traditional "flu" at this stage.CM11 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 15, 2020 9:55 pm https://www.hse.ie/eng/services/news/ne ... 9-updates/

Nice and all but that's the Hofskirkja church in Iceland.
I'm all for a rake of pints and talking absolute nonsense with my friends, but the barman dancing around standing on the bar while feeding shots to customers while everyone screams out Mr Brightside? Yeah, nah. Is this Coyote Ugly?
Maybe when I was 20, and only because I'd have been too buckled to be a curmudgeon.
