I'm just going to put this out there, but over the last month of SR Aotearoa Michael Collins has been the form centre in NZ. He's brilliant wearing the no.13 jersey.

In the 60th minute Mitch Hunt absolutely smoked Jordie Barrett for pace to score a long range try. He made JB look like he was running on the spot. I've been talking up Jordie Barrett all season as he has been excellent, but that was seriously worrying to watch, given we're all talking about JB being an AB 15 or right winger. Mitch Hunt is hardly a feared ball runner in NZ, or a noted flyer, and yet he was far too quick for Barrett. I need to rethink my advocacy of Jordie Barrett.

Yep, his lack of top-end speed gets shown up at fullback, but he's very good in an organising and distributing role at 13 (plus his defence is pretty solid).

Jordie is entertaining to watch.

He’s not AB material. He’s too slow and never really far away from a brain explosion.

For a neutral POV, it was a terrific match. Well done both teams

But, how you say, mostly the Highlanders.

If I were a canes fan (I am), I would still congratulate both sides...

I thought Marino Mika'ele-Tu'u showed that he is indisputably the form no.8 in NZ at the moment. The AB's have desperately needed a player like him in the selection mix for ages. He's got to be the best ball running forward in defensive traffic in NZ. He's like a slimmer, faster, fitter version of Billy Vunipola. Ardie Savea tried his guts out as usual, but as always he looks like NZ's best openside flanker trying to look like a no.8.

I think there was a moment when Frizell just bumped off Savea effortlessly. It was brutal. The Highlanders had the most dynamic loose forward trio in the comp, which is saying a lot.

Wasn't it the other way round? Savea took a quick tap off a scrum free kick and bumped off Frizell late in the game...

Probably both happened. They were both going at it hammer and tongs.

True, I think Frizell got him back with a huge hit a couple of minutes later.
