MP really needs to tighten up on smarts because that's leading to pressure and discipline being tested.

{EDIT} Because when they have possession, they are a real threat. Should trouble the Rebels and Force.

The Highlanders' biggest issue is that when they have possession they're not enough of a threat.

Hunt's a brave but limited 10, and now that Thomas Umuga-Jensen's out injured again the backline is pretty toothless beyond halfback.

Highlanders win 37-17.

Gotta feel for Moana Pasifika with their covid-ravaged schedule...and more to come.

Hunt seems to have gone backwards. IIRC, his kicking at least used to be reliable.

He's had a few big match-winning kicks in the past, but part of the reason the Highlanders are losing games now is his erratic goalkicking, and the backs (starting with him) kicking away far too much good, hard won ball deep inside the opposition's half. Not that they're much better when the ball does accidentally make it to the wings... they simply don't have the cattle.

This Force SH should spend a bit more time on fitness and passing and a little less in the hairdressers. He's woeful.

Just finished a bit of supply shopping and settled in for the second half... deep in the heart of Wang Bot sub district, Petchabun province.

32C and fine. Couldn't ask for more.

Interesting to see if anything comes of it but I reckon I just saw a shoulder charge from Jordie there as the Saders went into touch a metre out.

Looked distinctly like a shoulder charge but not to the TMO or the ref

A Beauden Barrett cross field kick that actually pays off. That’s his tactics sorted for the rest of the season.

Bloody hell, WTF do the Chiefs have to do to score a try here?

Blues game was a step up in intensity. Chiefs were pretty hilarious though.

It annoys me greatly that the Brumbies are leading Drua 5 - nil 20 minutes in. All will be forgiven tho' if Drua are ahead when the ref blows time.

I'm a Richie fan.. but whereas since the middle of last year he seems to have got progressively worse... BB has been getting better and better... Richie seems a shadow of his former self... his running game has vanished and his composure is iffy... what has happened to him?

It's funny... I watched the 2nd half of the Sader's game, missed the 1st. There was one passage of play that saw the Canes hot on attack and Jordie chipped it in behind... Mo'unga cleaned it up behind the line with two or three players right on him. Somehow, he managed to dodge them, accelerate while slipping sideways and made probably 10m before being brought down.

If BB had done that the nation's paid dribblers would have been waxing ecstatic. Richie does it and... well, that's just what he should be doing, right.

BB managed a cross kick that resulted in a try, though. He's.... gush, soooo good.

I remember that moment too... and I remember my thought... finally a bit of the old Richie... but he used to dominate games... control them, conduct them... now I only see BB doing that... and I was Richie's biggest cheerleader pre-paternal break... it's like he's totally lost his confidence.

RMo fucked up fairly often and looked a little confused as to what he was trying to do. And that was in the first half an hour. Hopefully he improved after that...

How good was the play RMo worked with Reece from deep in defence that nearly led to a try at the other end? He was behind the scrum on his goal line looking set for the clearance kick and at the last minute broke right, took the ball, accelerated and put Reece in space down the sideline.

I don’t think TV coverage picks up the pre-play subtleties but focusing on Mo’unga during a game the way he picks his moments to go in motion and set play up is impressive (whether he is in as good form as last year or not).

Beaudy can do that too, you know.

And Jordie broke the line.
