Any scholars of ancient Greece on bored?

If so, is this how they would've written "2022" back in the day?

Image

I can't find anything online that indicates otherwise, but would very much like to ensure it's right.

Cheers in advance.

I don't know, I'm no scholar of ancient Greece, but I suspect that might need a little more context - back in which day? Pericles' Athens? Justinian's Constantinople?

And why are they writing it? As a date, or just the number 2,022? No-one was using Anno Domini before 525 AD. Wikipedia suggests they didn't number years at all in the 5th & 4th centuries BC, just dated things by who held a chief magistracy that year.

Cheers, that's really helpful. I hadn't even considered them not numbering years tbh.

New Zealand-born woman Joan Ita Bergin dies after accidentally overdosing on Lemsip

Joan Ita Bergin, 58, was living in the United Kingdom last December when she developed a cough and bad chest that lasted for close to a week, the Daily Mail reported.

During that time she took Lemsip cold and flu drink to manage the symptoms.

But on Christmas Day, Bergin's son called an ambulance after seeing his mum's condition deteriorate.

Bergin had been vomitting coffee-coloured bile and was found to have low oxygen levels and "significantly elevated" liver enzymes, the Daily Mail reported..

The mother-of-one was taken to intensive care and diagnosed with liver failure.

However, she continued to deteriorate and died on January 7.

An inquest was held into Bergin's death at the UK's Preston Coroner's Court.

It was told that Bergin also drank alcohol excessively.

Her son Matthew said in a statement that his mum drank three to four cans of cider each day before work and up to 10 cans at weekends.

Reports today that one of the Warriors rugby league team players in the NRL (Harrison TeVita) played the entire 2nd half last weekend with a ruptured testicle - and he's in the lineup for this weekend.

Now THAT takes balls.

There's always the ones that think they can bluster their way through too. Just makes things worse for them. Do as you're told, answer questions, don't be rude. Just like any airport, they're doing their jobs, they don't have a personal vendetta against you.

I tended to cause a bit of hassle when I was going through, and often had the supervisor called over. I have had/have an orange print ID documents (typical of Palestinians), in a blue ID case (typical of Israelis). Quite a few of the newer staff had no idea what they were supposed to do with me. Not so much of a problem with my missus around but still caused a few confused looks.

One Kiwi woman has gone viral after her robot vacuum clear slipped out of her Coromandel home and headed into the wild this week.

Taking to social media in an attempt to find the rogue robot, the Whangamatā woman wrote: "I know this sounds mad, but has anyone seen a iRobot vacuum cleaner 902 end of Port road?"

She revealed she was charging the device in her cupboard when she heard it start up.

"I did have garage door open and am now wondering if it took off down driveway, I really can't find it in house."

The community hilariously started reporting sightings of the plucky robot across the coastal settlement - some of which may not have been entirely factual.

"Just passed it going up the Bombays," one person wrote.

"Those things are like rabbits ... town will be overrun with them by spring!" added someone else.

When did interviewing one of the players as the teams leave the field at halftime become a thing?

The Munster squad get ready to play the second half of extra-time against Toulouse after a 24-24 score at 80 minutes led to a 20-minute period of extra time before a place-kicking competition took place.

and the fans sing 'Zombie'. What an atmosphere

Probably a decade ago? That's when I was still fairly regularly watching Soup and I remember first seeing it there and thinking how weird it was. You don't get much useful or interesting out of players at the best of times thanks to all their media training, it's even worse mid game when they're completely out of breath and just want to hit the sheds.

I think speaking to a cricket captain mid-game is even weirder, but yes, I can't believe any sportsman would want to speak to an interviewer halfway through a match.

Worry that the media were hoping for a few heat-of-moment ill-advised comments

Just looked at some of the stuff from the Wagatha Christie Libel trial.

Vardy must be thick as pig shit to have launched it; if she thought her reputation was damaged enough to justify it; it'll be burnt to the ground by the time she's finished in the witness box.

I F'en hate gossips, & she is obviously a particularly grasping, & vicious one !

It's a total joke. Her former PA "lost" her phone over the side of a boat!!! Her IT specialist "lost" her Whatsapp passwords and back up files somehow!! I hope she's taken to the cleaners!
Rebekah Vardy has confirmed she attempted to leak a story about the arrest of drink-driving Premier League footballer Danny Drinkwater to a journalist at the Sun – but insisted it was a one-off.
As part of the continuing “Wagatha Christie” libel trial, the footballer’s wife said she sent the information on Drinkwater’s night in the cells to her agent Caroline Watt, along with a WhatsApp message that said: “I want paying for this x.”
