Because dropping them was a huge mistake and we've a glut of injuries to our bowlers at the moment

39 and 35. Time to move on before time forces you to move on.

{EDIT} Sorry. Just read the rest of the article. 7 bowlers injured? So, when they are fit, what then?

Two of the greatest bowlers we've ever produced, backed up by guys who are nowhere near as good - so we should probably try and make the most of them for as long as we can, developing other players along the way and managing the workload. Suddenly dumping them off is what we tried in the Windies, how did that go?

Hopefully you'll get a decent money spinner from the NZ T20s later this year, I'm considering it as a good excuse to visit family...

T20s £37 ODI £47

So long as they're not rained off it should make a tidy sum.

Also got home triseries vs Namibia & Nepal, and against USA & UAE.

Reports that there will be thousands of empty seats at Lord's for the test this week. As much as journalists are pushing the cost of living angle, I actually think this issue precedes it.
Sport in this country has been gouging fans for a while, and testing the waters of exactly how much they can charge before people turn their backs. We saw this with Wales failing to sell out the France and Italy games this 6N. For me, this follows that pattern. £150 to watch an objectively poor test side who have let the fans down massively is what is causing people to vote with their feet, not a nascent cost of living crisis that disproportionately doesn't affect your average Lord's punter.

Certainly my view, I'm not paying that sort of money to watch this side.

Football will get away with this because it's much more popular and has a global audience, but suspect we'll see more and more of these stories from rugby and cricket over the next few years.

£77 for a ground pass for all 3 is a nice little deal

Conway gooorn!
Jeez Jimmy's been fast bowling in tests for 19 years now! Serious engine and although he's had injuries is probably the most durable bowler of all time.

The Blackcaps middle order of Mitchell, CdGH and Blundell Doesn’t instil a huge amount of confidence in situations like this.

I would be interested in Williamson’s test stats over the last 12 months. The year before he was incredible but it feels like a long lean run now.

I was considering paying for sky sports for a month, but just checked the score and I’m not sure it’s going to be value for money.

What has Baz done to us.

His average has dropped somewhat from the 159 he enjoyed in the 20/21 season.

Thank goodness normal programming has resumed.

Being a NZ cricket supporter and having expectation was just too much to deal with. This whole 'NZ going into tests as favourites' was not good for the heartrate.

We can now settle back into mediocrity with the occasional good result.

From Caps back to Craps. A bit rusty is all. They'll hit back I expect.

The worst part is that I am also rooting for England to do well so McCullum gets some positive plaudits as well......a strange time to be alive.

I missed this. Nasty bang to the head!
England spinner Jack Leach has been withdrawn from the first Test against New Zealand at Lord's after suffering symptoms of concussion.
The 30-year-old took a heavy fall while chasing a ball to the boundary in the sixth over of the first day.
Lancashire leg-spinner Matt Parkinson has been called up as the replacement and will make his Test debut.

Amazing reaction from the local community in UK after 19 year old SA cricketer was assaulted outside a pub in Bristol. He's in an induced coma but there are positive signs that he is doing better. Went to Maritzburg College and comes from a very humble background in Umlazi Township.
