Legendary jockey Lester Piggott, who won the Derby a record nine times, has died aged 86.
The Englishman won 30 British Classic races in a career which yielded 4,493 winners.
He also had 116 Royal Ascot victories and was named champion jockey 11 times between 1960 and 1982.

Not a pom but of course I knew the name Lester Piggot. And immediately assumed he would have been headed towards 90.

A mate of mine back in the day tried a chat-up line in a pub to the words. "Wow, The last time I saw an arse like that, Lester Piggot was riding it"
He was unsuccessful .
RIP Mr Piggot. My father made a few quid betting on you over the years.
