Bother - Mitchells wicket just before lunch was worse than expected.

In form England will be happy.

60 run Mitchell-Southee partnership was irritating, felt England were stupid there. But I doubt the Kiwis will be terribly happy with losing the last 3 in 5 Leach balls all trying to hit him over the top either. Probably balances out.

The failure to review Mitchell's LBW the big missed opportunity to get them out for 250 or so.

But not very costly. Except that that might well have got Pope had the catch been taken!

Fabulous bowling by Boult. Fragile top order exposed again. Tough gig for Bairstow this, wouldn't surprise me to see him back in the shed shortly.

I got excited and then saw Bairstow and Stokes at the crease......let the gloom descend.

Not sure that was Stokes's brightest innings. You have to be able to play in more than one way.

And now England right back in there with this partnership

This batting line up for England is just out of this world.

Crawley, Pope and Root can amass runs at a decent rate, Stokes and Bairstow can now take a game away from you in a session....how do you combat it? Bowling line and length doesn't matter when batters with incredible skill and strength are throwing their hands at it.

This is a new breed of test cricket.

Perhaps won't work outside their home conditions....but at home.....jeez....make sure you give them 400+ to chase on the final day otherwise you're in trouble.

If England are committed to this route then there will be some hammerings but should often produce entertainment. Some cricket this today.

3-0 to England by the end of this.

No answer to the power of the English middle order.

Soul destroying stuff for us Kiwi fans.....just doesn't work out for us against England in England does it.

I crashed when Mitchell and Southee were seemingly batting us to a decent total, and now we're staring at another likely defeat.

I can't see them scoring like this against the Aussie or Indian attack, or even a newish Saffer attack.

England way to classy. We need to do something different maybe more spin.

gutted for Overton, lovely to see Broad batting with confidence again.

Its been an enthralling test series actually. England have won some critical sessions but its been pretty closely contested so far.

BCs get England all out for a lead of 31, Boult getting four, with a very entertaining cameo by Broad.

Enjoy watching Potts bowl, intelligent and no nonsense.

Have to say that Broad constantly badgering the umpire yesterday annoyed me

Unfortunately England just better all round. Unearthing some really good talent - powerful batters and good bowlers.

This has been a rather chastening series for NZ. Only Blundell, Mitchell and Boult will come away with any credit. I don't know why - but when form goes for one in the top order they all seem to go. We suffer from form clusters - rather than individuals struggling.

It’s been a frustrating series for us. A familiar sequence of getting ourselves in to a good winning position and then England somehow slipping out of the noose, every single time.

The lead is nowhere near enough and our tailenders are not good enough to block one end and let Blundell push the score to a decent total.

That's rotten from Crawley. Good captaincy etc but it is crap batting.

Too easy.

Either NZ's bowling attack was flattering to deceive for 2 or 3 seasons - or England's batters have been trolling everyone for the last 3 or 4 seasons.

England's batsmen will always be class, specially at home.

When last did England lost a test series at home?.

Wickets again for Leach and we have Bracewell leaking runs. The BC’s selection of spin has been terrible for some time and this series highlights it again. If Bracewell is getting overs then Patel should be in the team instead.
