Top 3:
Rugby union - I think rugby shapes character better than any other sport, it promotes bravery, selflessness and teamwork.
Football - no sport is more global. The peoples game, it is a sport that is accessible to everyone regardless of race, wealth, education etc. Skill wise no question one of the hardest sports to master.
Boxing - it has the element of being one of the only sports that you can be getting your arse handed to you and with one move the entire contest not only changes but ends abruptly.
Fourth - Ice hockey - Like football the skill level is through the roof but it is also very physical. Perfect blend of skill and violence.
Fifth is whatever is the flavour of the month tbh. Right now I would go with cycling because I got into for the first time last year and like football it is very global and accessible to pretty much everyone.

Yeah, rugby league might be the only sport where I'd say watching a full game is boring but watching highlights is awesome.

You guys are absolutely nuts! I've no idea how you do it. One of my good friends has some sort of sports bike and he's always telling me that when the roads are empty he opens it up and does 120mph+ or thereabouts. To have the bottle to do that is insane imo.

The 5th spot is a flux, sometimes a sport really grabs you and makes you love it for a while but you wouldn't follow it full time.

5th is too hard to pick, but I will go with Kok Boru (headless goat polo), simply because a match between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan was the single best sporting event I've seen live.

Welcome to the gutter... we've been expecting you!
I'd never heard of that, but after watching a bit on YouTube - wtf?? Utterly mental!

I'll watch nearly any sport on TV tbf.
I don't really watch skiing much in terms of competitive downhill but love watching big mountain and park stuff and love skiing but not competitively either.

Rugby
Tour de France
Cricket
Athletics
Boxing
There are other things like tennis which I love playing but find mostly really dull to watch. I absolutely love Winter Olympic ice hockey but can't watch the NHL. F1 would come on the list as well I guess.

All the money you made will never buy back your soul
Rugby Union
Cricket
Golf
American Football (college >NFL but watch both)
Baseball
Fifth one is probably a bit of a gap from the top four and has a lot chasing it. I'll watch most things but have never liked rugby league and nowadays football bores me. Many sports are better in the flesh (see baseball) and I had a great time at the Commonwealth games in Glasgow watching a whole list of thing like badminton, hockey, weightlifting was surprisingly good. Been to a track cycling event before and that's a great day out.

And are there two g’s in Bugger Off?
Olympics adds a gloss to a lot of things. Watching the half pipe and the ski cross etc are brilliant but I can't get into watching the winter x games.

I thought it was just going to be something with a bit of quirky-entertainment-factor at first, and to be fair, the first match I watched was Kyrgyzstan thrashing someone, and that was really all it was. But the game between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan was a close match and it was incredible (the fact the rank underdog Uzbekistani's won also helped) - just absolutely nuts, blokes smashing into each other, bowling each other over (horse and all), hauling each other off their horses as they fight over the carcass and falling into the concrete ring "goal" as they score. Pretty impressive watching them hanging off their horses and grabbing the 35kg goat carcass off the floor while riding at full tilt, particularly considering they are mostly pretty tiny blokes.
The pre-match involves the two sides galloping in-line, holding their national flags (think the Crusader's mascot x 10), in half-circles back towards each other, while bombastic Lord-of-the-Rings-esque battle music plays. We really need to implement something like it for teams to come out onto the rugby field - no horses, but just a screaming charge waving flags as battle standards, while battle music blares over the PA, as it sure as shit beats national anthems for getting the crowd amped up.

Is that the same as Buzkhashi?Demilich wrote: ↑Tue Aug 25, 2020 9:31 amI thought it was just going to be something with a bit of quirky-entertainment-factor at first, and to be fair, the first match I watched was Kyrgyzstan thrashing someone, and that was really all it was. I've only been watching MotoGP the last 4 years or so.
