The $4.1M is for compensatory damages. The jury has still to decide on the amount to award in punitive damages, so the shit stain could yet have to pay an awful lot more.fishfoodie wrote: Thu Aug 04, 2022 10:17 pm Ah well, the inevitable happened, & he's lost the case; but the Jury is only awarding $4.1m, versus the $150m that the the bereaved parents were looking for ......... but this was Texas, a notoriously difficult State for suing in, & the case turned into a complete cake walk, & now the evidence uncovered can be used in other States, & the other lawsuits.
And as an added bonus; the shit stain has now perjured himself in Texas; which is a crime they actually do take seriously, & he may also have committed bankruptcy fraud too, because hes been caught moving money around to avoid having it in the gun sights of the plaintiffs; & that could potentially have him facing Federal charges, where he has zero friends, the jeopardy, is an order of magnitude higher.
The chinless shitstain will spend the rest of his life, like the orange shitstain; being the defendant in an endless series of court cases.

Pride returns to Brighton this weekend, the first festival since 2019 when around 250 000 people flocked to the city, almost doubling the population over the two days. The Police closed the beach on the Saturday night, advising revellers to find other places to go - the beach from the Marina to Hove is about four miles long, but it was packed. We are expecting over 300 000 party goers this year. Christina Aguilera headlines the festival in the park, but that is only a small part of the Pride weekend.
The weather forecast is 23 degrees and sunny, it's going to be quite something.
A pic from 2019

God above but the Beebs standards have dropped thru the floor.
If an intern had written this piece, they'd never get rehired with this amount of mistakes in it; to have a, "senior journalist", make so many fundamental, & easily verifiable factual errors is ridiculous !

It's not the "Tip", it's the fucking "Pit", you imbecile !, & if you think dropping from 30,000ft into water gives you a soft landing, I'd suggest you belly flop into a swimming pool from 30ft, & see how soft that feels !

It’s certainly well padded out. If you’re going to start reading it, the odds are pretty high that you know what a megaton is and where the Bay of Biscay is.fishfoodie wrote: Fri Aug 05, 2022 11:17 pm God above but the Beebs standards have dropped thru the floor.![]()

That's a ludicrous amount of wasted water. Same as every other provider though, pay less, waste plenty, charge more and record profits.SaintK wrote: Mon Aug 08, 2022 2:02 pm Drought, what drought?

Hmmmm.....not sure this piece is as bad as you think it is. The reference to the ditched bomb having a 'soft landing' is actually worded as a 'cushioned landing' - which compared to an earth based landing would probably be correct. Also - I'm reasonably sure that the hard metal streamlined body of a bomb would have different impact results than the soft skin and protruding limbs of a human being.fishfoodie wrote: Fri Aug 05, 2022 11:17 pm God above but the Beebs standards have dropped thru the floor.![]()

The piece isn't amazing - but deals with an interesting modern phenomenon.

Interesting way of doing a pub crawl; I'm not sure it'll catch on.

When I was living in Sydney back in the 80s we had a few Brits in our social group, which centred on drinking naturally enough, we were all in our 20s and... well, anyway. One lad, I think his name was Russell from memory, had a party trick that involved stretching a condom over his head and blowing it up by breathing out through his nose. ( mouth was uncovered). It was quite spectacular in its own way... a tall lad with an extra foot or so of latex on top and his upper face all smeared up inside it.
Russell stood about 6'2" or so.
He and the lads went over to the city to watch a ODI between England and Australia and then came back over to Manly and the swanky hotel bar I was working in.
Russell was wearing an England flag like a cape. The bar was packed, as usual. Jammed. Heaving. Russell felt obliged to pull out the party trick and quickly snorted up his space alien addition before setting off on a victory lap of the bar.
He made it about 3 feet before passing out and spreading about three tables' worth of punters and drinks across the floor. Spectacular effort really. Real Brits abroad stuff. Beautiful to watch.

Oh and the Dundee Utd supporters on the flight. One threatened with arrest for getting out of his seat as we were coming in to land, another for what sounded like groping one of the stewardesses and one should have been for pissing in the wash basin in the airport toilets.

Interesting article about some mind-bogglingly weird, terrible and quite possibly illegal ‘research’ by a PhD student at Manchester, and the reaction of parts of the academic community when it was criticised by a Tory MP.
https://stuartritchie.substack.com/p/ci ... um=reader2
The ‘research’ basically involved the student spending several months masturbating to Japanese child porn and keeping a diary of each time he did so.

Jason Grant's hiring sparked a heated online debate, with critics saying the job should have gone to a woman.

Whilst there are clearly aspects of medicine that apply exclusively to one sex or the other, most applies to both. There are many, many thousands of GPs, and certainly in my practice they will happily give you an appointment with a male or female GP if you so desire. So there is access to someone of the same gender who may have a better understanding of a gender specific issue.
This is something that applies exclusively to women, and there is only person filling the role. It would therefore seem sensible that the person who fills the role is someone who has that gender specific understanding of the issue. Unless of course there were no competent female applicants.
I think in this case there has been some of the usual public sector shenanigans with a job for a mate - it wasn't widely advertised and just happened to go to the project supervisor's former fitness instructor who they have also hired for two previous positions. They possibly weren't overly concerned with finding a suitable candidate and it may even be a bit of a non-job.weegie01 wrote: Fri Aug 19, 2022 1:14 pmIt is not the same.Guy Smiley wrote: Tue Aug 16, 2022 5:46 pmI have a female GP. I'd happily feel kisses on both cheeks of my arse against two hands....
I love watching little children running and screaming, playing hide and seek in the playground.
They don't know I'm using blanks..

TB63's comment about the cheeks of his arse reminded me that Singapore is moving to lift the ban on homosexual sex.

It’s an odd one - law has been on the books but policy has been not to enforce it for years now. Seems that feeling was that the more conservative here just weren’t ready for the change.
