And while the mobilization continues, Putin...goes on a week's holiday.

Anjem Choudary had his public speaking ban lifted in July.
He is reported to be saying stuff about Leicester.

There was footage of a woman being arrested at one of these protests, chucked into a van and followed by bloodcurdling screams from inside the van.

Extra Rosgvardiya national guard troops being called into Dagestan according to rumours as the anti-mobilisation protests continue. The Commissars are either going to have ease up on their efforts and cut their losses, or go in really hard which could just provoke even more anger. The Dagestani women sure know how to stand up for themselves

Hopefully some more gains this week.

I'm having a really hard time giving a shit about Russian Police beating the shit out of Russian protestors.

They were happy enough pretending this wasn't a war, & their army wasn't raping, & murdering civilians; but when they themselves faced having to go into the caulderon, all of a sudden it was worth getting off their asses & protesting ... so fuck em !!!

As for the Republics; they need to clean house, & kick the puppets that Putin put in office, out, & take control of their Countries, & stop the pretense that they are equal peoples with the Russians, because we all know the Russians think they're the master race, & the rest of us are just serfs !

The EU needs to listen to the Countries bordering Russia, & stop them crossing our borders, because while Putin has decided that any country that contains Russian speakers, is, ipso facto, a Russian territory, they should be refused entry.

It wasn't just the majority of ethnic Russians keeping their heads down while Russia was attempting genocide in Ukraine, but all the myriad ethic groups that make up the Russian empire. Even most Crimean Tartars were silent. Most people would be when the alternative is a Russian jail and a good chance of being tortured.

There was an interesting piece on a small Siberian ethnic group (forgot their name) and why many of their men joined up. Escape from crushing poverty and despair, money and the chance to kill white people, were some of the reasons given. To them there were no difference between white Ukrainians and Russians, and both were thought of as oppressors.

There's also a video going round on Twitter of a women protester in Moscow being bundled into a police van. Moments later she starts screaming, and screaming. The type of screams that suggests she is terrified and quite possibly having extreme pain inflicted on her. Not being able to see what is happening to her makes it somehow worse.

Anyway, my point is we should welcome any resistance to the Russian war effort, even from people whose motives might be selfish.

Where was the resistance when Putin was massacering Chechens ?

Where was the resistance when Putin was massacering Georgians ?

Where was the resistance when Putin was massacering Syrians ?

etc, etc, etc....

It's too fucking late for them to suddenly decide to resist, & expect the rest of the world to give two fucks about it.

First they came for the gypsies, & I said nothing.....

It's a great example. They are aggressively nationalist with a hardcore violent fringe and lots of them are thick as dog shit. I mean the hard-core nationalists not Indians before I get banned.
I spend a lot of time with Indian born people in Britain, and travel to India semi-regularly. What I hear from otherwise sensible people on politics/race increasingly unnerves me and we need to be much more proactive here at stamping down on RSS style movements, who are fascists, let's not mince our words. I wonder what the future holds for India, but this has got worse and worse under Modi and Nehru's vision seems dead.

Seems that a large number of new "recruits", especially from areas with some unrest due to the mobilization are already in transport towards the zone of conflict and Crimea, suggesting that training will be absolutely minimal before they are thrown into combat and not even the claimed 2 weeks. Putin's strategy, such as it is, appears merely to throw bodies into the most contested areas - not much point posting them behind the lines if the intention is to rotate and refresh units that have been clobbered.

The sooner you move them out of their locality, the harder it is for them to do a bunk from the camp, & disappear; they won't have friends in area, & they'll have the wrong accent.

They'll rout at first contact. It'll be like Shogun Total War with yari ashigaru up against gold chevron samurai. The rout could/will cause better units to rout as well.

Unfortunately, our previous Home Secretary was an unashamed cheerleader for Modi and the BJP so she was hardly engaged in stopping it over here. Her replacement seems a little more engaged in stopping it, but I doubt it's for any deep understanding of the underlying causes.

Reported from a UA source that a train carrying newly mobilized from Russia was destroyed en route...

N.B. photo is not be from this incident, and it's unconfirmed story

Machine TL
There is information that in the Lugansk region. the first batch of "partially mobilized" from Russia finished fighting ahead of schedule.
Many will return home much faster than expected, however, in the status of cargo 200. A large number of wounded occupiers are also reported after an explosive incident
with a Russian train.

The Orcs have given up on their pontoon bridge out of Kherson, beside the Antonovsky bridge, & started dismanteling it; so now escaping is now going to via the few ferries that haven't been destroyed, & there's a great big queue to get on the Ferry

So what's gong on with the Nordstream connections?
]Nord Stream pipeline sustains 'unprecedented damage'

Three offshore lines of the Nord Stream gas pipeline system have sustained "unprecedented" damage in one day, Nord Stream AG, the operator of the network, has said.

Sweden's Maritime Authority said two leaks had been found in the Nord Stream 1 pipeline.

Denmark is also restricting shipping after another leak on the nearby Nord Stream 2 pipeline was found.

Both pipelines contained gas under pressure, but neither of them was pumping gas to Europe at the time leaks were found.

The pipelines have been at the centre of the energy dispute between Europe and Russia since the start of the war in Ukraine.

Nord Stream AG, the operator of the network, has said it is impossible to estimate when the gas network system's working capability will be restored.

Well how could anyone possibly not believe these results?
Russian state media has announced the preliminary results of the so-called referendums being held in occupied parts of Ukraine. With about a fifth of votes counted, it is reported that an overwhelming majority have voted in favour of joining Russia:

97% in Kherson region
98% in Zaporizhzhia
98% in “Donetsk People’s Republic”
98% in “Luhansk People’s Republic”

I'm going with 92% - big enough to be overwhelming, but not quite crossing into that too big zone where you lose the plausible claim that its legit!
With a week to organise no sane person will think it is.
