Site Maintenance
Hi All
Just a heads up there will be significant site maintenance work going on starting Saturday 26th November, completing 3.00am UK Time on Sunday morning, the site will be offline for that whole period while it is migrated across to a new infrastructure.
Apologies in advance for any inconvenience.

Could you PLEASE turn off that f*cking annoying animated dots and lines screen-saver banner-thing behind the "NPR A place where escape goats go to play"? It's not only a waste of space, it pisses away laptop battery. Just having the page open - without interacting with it - uses 25% of one of my CPU cores. And it interferes with trying to view embedded videos full-screen - it gets faintly blended in with the video.
It disappears if you upgrade to the Premium Servicederriz wrote: Thu Nov 10, 2022 11:04 pm Could you PLEASE turn off that f*cking annoying animated dots and lines screen-saver banner-thing behind the "NPR A place where escape goats go to play"? All the money you made will never buy back your soul
I use stylebot and set these styles:
(The pulsing new posts icon takes up 20% CPU on chrome for me, hence the animation: none as well.)
Code: Select all
::before {
animation: none;
}
.particles-js-canvas-el {
display: none;
}
Wha daur meddle wi' me?
Done, please remember i do this in my spare time and pay for it out of my own pocket so its not always possible to respond or even undertake every request in a timely manner. The site runs pretty well, there will always be a few wrinkles, not everything will work the same for everyone with the myriad of operating systems/devices/ browsers out there, so i do the best i can to cater for the widest coverage i can.derriz wrote: Thu Nov 10, 2022 11:04 pm Could you PLEASE turn off that f*cking annoying animated dots and lines screen-saver banner-thing behind the "NPR A place where escape goats go to play"? โFacts are meaningless. You could use facts to prove anything that's even remotely true.โ
Ah sorry for the tone. I appreciate your efforts. Don't read too much into my use there, when I'm on the phone it's easier to use the keyboard on it rather than the text window. I didn't mean to be sarcastic. Really appreciate the effort you've put into this place, it's a fine and many splendoured thing. Even with the Welsh.ASMO wrote: Wed Nov 30, 2022 12:33 pmWill have a nose at finding new smilies, maybe in a couple of weeks as i am off to the Czech Republic for 10 days next week.Guy Smiley wrote: Sun Nov 27, 2022 11:30 amASMO wrote: Sun Nov 27, 2022 8:20 am All done and sorted, thanks for your patience, coincided nicely with the worst England performance for at least a decade.
