What's going on in Ukraine?
Russians have hit some large farms, obvious intent is to make food harder to obtain.
They killed 2000 cows in one strike.
Re: the list of companies still in Russia.
From videos I have watched, a lot of clothing/fashion companies pretty much ignored sanctions or rebranded and moved stuff via China.

Situation is starting to move fast in Kherson. The videos of captured Russian equipment and defencive positions are starting to appear.
Confirmed reports Ukrainian forces are less than 15km from Kherson city, that's from photos and video of Ukrainian regulars (not special forces). Unconfirmed by quite credible reports that Ukrainian regulars are now on the outskirts of the city proper and special forces are inside the city (credible because the confirmed positions of Ukrainian forces, make it not much of a stretch for them to be a bit more advanced currently). Also some reports that remaining Russian forces (maybe as many as 20k) are carrying out a chaotic withdrawal under heavy Ukrainian artillery fire currently, but these are mostly Russian reports and I'm not sure what to make of them.
There's a video claiming to be one of the Russian crossing points, haven't seen it before so probably recent. Russians could be retreating through choke points taking this amount of fire.

Anything to the speculation that US tried to broker a withdrawal from Kherson but the Ukrainians weren't having it?_Os_ wrote: ↑Fri Nov 11, 2022 12:57 am Situation is starting to move fast in Kherson. The videos of captured Russian equipment and defencive positions are starting to appear.

Wouldn't blame them. If Russians want mercy, they should surrender.

Wouldn't surprise me if RU made an approach to the US to try and influence UA into accepting an uncontested withdrawal, find it harder to believe that the US would pro-actively do this though.Uncle fester wrote: ↑Fri Nov 11, 2022 10:02 am Anything to the speculation that US tried to broker a withdrawal from Kherson but the Ukrainians weren't having it?

Haven't seen anything regarding this. Wouldn't make much sense (although I'm no military expert), the harder Russia were smashed here the easier it would be to cut the land bridge, there's been talk for months of a third front opening in the Zaporizhia area which is the next logical step after Kherson is secured. Taking Kherson frees up forces on both sides (but Russian forces seem more broken), but gives Ukraine the territory bringing more of the land bridge into Ukrainian artillery range.Uncle fester wrote: ↑Fri Nov 11, 2022 10:02 am Anything to the speculation that US tried to broker a withdrawal from Kherson but the Ukrainians weren't having it?

There was one photo today of a Russian AA system destroyed 60km from the frontline in the Zaporizhia area, which since the start of the war has looked to me like drones removing the outer layers of Russian defences (quite hard to hit anything that far from the frontline any other way doubtful Ukraine would risk manned aircraft to do that, special forces are possible though) so that progressively more force can be brought to bear.
Svatove a significant Russian logistics hub in Luhansk has also been looking weak for awhile. Russia have pushed in conscripts who are massacred 100s at a time to hold it, there's also been video from that area of Russian air force working at low level doing ground support (which is unusual given the amount of MANPADS).

Have to wonder what horrors await discovery in the city once it is all explored, this isn't a city where there was a large number of separatists and there was a lot of pro-UA protest in the early days of occupation before RU started cutting communications and clamped down on news from there.
Apparently the story there is, those are police officers that went into military service. The policemen are liberating their own police station.

Russian channeller, having seen the jubilant reaction to the liberation of Kherson wonder if the 87% referendum in favour of annexation into Russia was faked. No shit, Sherlock...
Continuation of the previous vid. The guy punches the commander in the chest at one point.
These guys had lives outside the army, they aren't kids and they aren't willing to accept shit just because they're told to. They realise they're getting shit training, shit equipment, and they'll be killed if they go along with it. You can bullshit a young man, he's half convinced he's immortal anyway, but these guys all look a lot older than that, and aren't willing to eat the bullshit.

Give a man a fire and he'll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.

This cuts to the core of the division in the Russian Empire. It's all fine while the people doing the dying are from Asia, or the Republics, but Russians don't have to die like everyone else, that's for the plebs. If you're from Moscow, or St Petersburg, you look down your nose at everyone else, because you get the best of what's available, & you don't go off to die like the rest.Raggs wrote: ↑Sun Nov 13, 2022 10:51 pm Continuation of the previous vid. Yep, anyone who's been in the workforce for a while should have a decent idea of the difference between adequate and inadequate training.Raggs wrote: ↑Sun Nov 13, 2022 10:51 pm Continuation of the previous vid. The guy punches the commander in the chest at one point.

A bunch of various international news outlets getting into trouble for breaking Ukraine's press rules regards going into Kherson early.

C4 Reporting that one of the Orc missiles has landed in Poland, & killed two people.
NATO will have to respond strongly if this is true

Hopefully, it'll be proven to have been knocked off course by air defences or some shit like that. Otherwise, it doesn't end well...fishfoodie wrote: ↑Tue Nov 15, 2022 7:03 pm C4 Reporting that one of the Orc missiles has landed in Poland, & killed two people.
