yeah, the ref team have missed a few now, but it's Racings lack of precision that's killing them. Even in that short spell there was a half dozen poor passes, or poor position, & the result is they went backwards

Quins really trying their best to squander a two man advantage.
Edit - and after I say that they come up with a bonkers brilliant try.

Can't believe Bosch didn't took the penalty.

Sums up Russell. Creates 1 try with 1 handed offload and then causes the concession of another doing the same. 1st one, fair enough when in the oppo 22 but nonsense when in your own.

It does highlight a rugby problem. Once a side has got on the wrong side of the ref, it's almost a carte blanche to ignore the other side's infringements. Especially if the game is already, deemed effectively over.fishfoodie wrote: ↑Sat Dec 10, 2022 2:37 pmyeah, the ref team have missed a few now, but it's Racings lack of precision that's killing them. Quins did well to get back within a point, but they fell back into bad loose kicking which gave Sharks the opportunity to score the try.

Great wins for Sharks and Cheetahs. Now for the tough one.

AE was very good for them. The Sharks were down to 13, still great try in the end to seal it.sockwithaticket wrote: ↑Sat Dec 10, 2022 2:55 pm Quins did well to get back within a point, but they fell back into bad loose kicking which gave Sharks the opportunity to score the try.
Enjoyable match in the end. Surprisingly Quins could have nicked itOomStruisbaai wrote: ↑Sat Dec 10, 2022 3:00 pmAE was very good for them. Great result for the $harks. That actually felt like the good old days, with a (semi) decent crowd, an atmosphere, good team and an entertaining game. I really like their new jersey, that's the best bit of kit in many seasons.
Hard luck Quins, I thought we were going to witness one of their notorious comebacks but that last try by the us was brilliant. Nice to see AE have a good game in front of his old crowd.

Wasn't sure of a Sharks win before that, they're still not really playing to their potential but the set piece and how they're passing/moving the ball looks good. Adding a few Boks makes a massive difference compared to the last few URC rounds.
Don't have much hope for us in this comp. Surprised we're playing in it, always thought playing in something like the URC was possible never thought this was.
Also, Andy Cap must be retired as the Sharks commentator. His bias was funny when the Sharks were playing SA/Aus/NZ sides. It was like a stereotype of an English ex-pat Durbanite had come down from the stands and started shouting his support for the Sharks into the microphone without even understanding the sport, which is a good summary of his life story. But now the Sharks are playing UK sides he's cheering for the other side, he wanted the Sharks to lose that.

Happy for that to be a 'rugby incident', but May was up second and we've definitely seen players penalised for that.

That one was a nightmare to call in the FR. Pau send out pretty much a 3rd team v a SA side who has played no rugby (so I've not seen them) and away from home. Lottery.OomStruisbaai wrote: ↑Sat Dec 10, 2022 2:59 pm Great wins for Sharks and Cheetahs. Now for the tough one.

He has no regard for his own safety. Every steal he looks looks like he's inches away from a serious injury.

Bordeaux - Gloucester is a pretty dull affair for the most part.
It's nice to see Tom Willis playing so well, but upsetting to see him in a shirt other than Wasps.

BJ Dixon got that yellow, close to red but he is such an improvement on van Rhyn.

Glaws left it late, but they did start playing some proper rugby to claw their way back into the lead.
Tom Willis deserved to be on the winning side, such was his performance, but it wasn't to be.

2nd half was fun. Tom Willis didn't deserve to be on the losing side but the Gloucester pack really showed up in the last quarter - looked immense. Ruskin excellent once again. Good BP win after being well behind.sockwithaticket wrote: ↑Sat Dec 10, 2022 4:12 pm Bordeaux - Gloucester is a pretty dull affair for the most part.
