Finally over but that took the BCs to almost 450. Going to be hard to lose from here.

Did Mitchell shit in Southee’s cornflakes or something? Or is there another reason he is not getting any overs?

Mitchell finally gets the ball and almost nails Sarfaraz with his first delivery.

EDIT: gets him with the 3rd ball.

Astounding statistics just introduced. The batsman with the highest average in the last 10 years against spin is KW, just over 80.

Dean Elgar saying what I think everyone already knew, SouthAfrica aren’t playing enough test cricket.

How is that worked out? I presume it's not the whole innings each time, but rather only counting balls against a spin bowler? That must have taken a long, long time for someone to work out...

The stats table actually included the top 10 batsmen so I guess all their mums were busy

There will be a database, it's just working out the query, which won't take too long.

I don't think he's played on many raging turners but it's a good record nonetheless, and speaks to his superb technique.

Yeah true. Kane's mum is off the hook.

So who's the best batter on seaming and swinging wickets?

Southee declares giving Pakistan 319 to win and the BCs get three overs at the openers tonight.

Southee takes one in the first over, Sodhi gets one in the final over, and Pakistan are 2 down for 0 runs.

A Pakistan fan submitted this comment to cricinfo
Anand: "What is the point of declaring when only get 3 overs to bowl. Could've played till stumps and declare"
That did not age well.

I was hoping they'd declare five or six overs earlier... but at least they did declare!

Spoke too soon. An excellent second session for Pakistan puts them firmly in the box seat.

Looks tasty. The five down includes the night watchman as well, so in a position to win.

Time is a problem for Pakistan here. It gets dark pretty quickly and there is usually no play after about 5.30

Incredibly gutsy effort by Sarfaraz but ends with KW holding the catch.
