Will Coveney go if he is tarnished with the Partygate brush?
No. It's a regurgitated story from nearly two years ago, before the formation of the present government afaik.feckwanker wrote: ↑Mon Jan 17, 2022 11:32 am Will Coveney go if he is tarnished with the Partygate brush?
I suspect that Mary Lou and the shinners will leave well alone as they were marching around Belfast at the Martin Storey funeral about the same time, and they won't want that raised again.
And believe it or not the DFA team that got us onto the UN Security Council well deserved their glass of fizz in celebration.

The lads were about to crack the Nicola Bulley case when the killer panicked and killed the Bored hamster.

Just representin' for my homie P-Jizzle
I note that in the latest Tech job shedding announcement Microsoft are letting 120 people go out of their 3,500 Irish headcount. Whilst unfortunate for those affected, that's 3.5% of their work force. They'd have a bigger churn in six months. How the press are reporting this with a straight face is beyond me.
Are they reporting it with any exaggeration? IT article on it looks like they're downplaying it.Camroc2 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 10, 2023 10:47 am I note that in the latest Tech job shedding announcement Microsoft are letting 120 people go out of their 3,500 Irish headcount. If you mean why are they reporting it at all? Well it's news whether it's no layoffs or anywhere between zero and lots because IT layoffs are currently in the news a bit.
I know one of those leaving. She'd known it was coming for a long time, has been getting paid with basically no customers to deal with, and will get a redundancy package, so handy enough.Camroc2 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 10, 2023 10:47 am I note that in the latest Tech job shedding announcement Microsoft are letting 120 people go out of their 3,500 Irish headcount. Microsoft over-extended some parts of the company post 2020. There was a huge bump in sales of their products as companies upgraded their ability to work remotely through Teams etc. That boost didn't sustain, though, as it was only a temporary surge as customers adjusted to the changing work environment.
Microsoft hired like it was going to be a sustained increase, rather than a temporary surge, and now they're adjusting accordingly.
This has been known basically since last summer, TBH. It'd be interesting to see exactly which departments those 120 staff are from.
Christy isn’t actually as bad as feared. Just had to cancel as a matter of courtesy. Missus knows his brother(social worker) thru work.EnergiseR2 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 09, 2023 6:55 pm Key Irish issues of the last year to be parsed in the next hour while everyone is here
