Conspicuous wrote: Thu Feb 09, 2023 6:09 pm I can’t remember an Irish bench with as much impact as this one . Apart from Ross Byrne they’ll all bring speed or huge physicality. Sheehan’s absence will be felt though , no getting around that.
Herring's a fine player, I have no worries about him. He's not Sheehan, but he wont be letting us down any. Strangely I'm more nervous about Kelleher, obviously he's a monster about the park, but his darts have never been as good as Sheehan's and his last day out in blue was a disaster for him from touch. Hope he's got it sorted.
I don’t think it’s being disrespectful to Herring, or any other hooker really to suggest Sheehan is playing a different sport to them at the moment. Rob will hit his darts , arrive the rucks early , put in a few tackles and possibly improve the scrum . What he won’t do is carry to the same affect Sheehan will , racking up metres every time he’s given the ball and causing huge panic in the opposition defence . In fact Rob probably won’t carry much at all tomorrow if his stats are similar to previous appearances. So as solid as he is we can’t really overestimate the loss of Dan Sheehan
Ah yeah, I agree with you totally there to be fair. I guess my post was more about while the drop off is there (and losing the carrier as you say), its not as bad as losing say Sexton, Derek or Ringrose, for whom I would have much greater concerns.

Don't worry.

If PR stays down over the weekend, we'll remedy that.

Was looking at some odds there and spotted that we're only 6/4 to score 4 tries. Mad altogether how far we've come.

Has Conor Murray's father been discussed? Surely he shouldn't be starting?

Pretty sure it would have been Murray and his family's decision.

Not discussed per se. I linked the story above and said kudos for deciding to play.

Not our call. Nor Farrell's. Up to Murray to make himself unavailable for selection. We could discuss his thinking or we could just wish him, his family and his father the best and leave it at that.

Andy Dunne's gone and predicted a 15pt win.

Which normally signals an upcoming market correction but hopefully the team don't buy any of that shite. Must say Farrell's played a blinder with the media this week.

Sonny Bill Williams blowing smoke up Sam Prendergast's backside according to the42.

It'll be interesting to see whether Leinster give him an early cap next season.

Sefton used the codez, which he had surreptitiously held onto since his days as mod, to banjax the site.

Didn’t realise it was a serious crash - is he critical? Murray should be stood down if it’s that serious. things really going against Ireland in the run up to this match.

His choice. I'm sure Farrell discussed it with him at length.

Nah the player will always want to play, sometimes you have to take the decision out of his hands for his own sake. It’s only a game, his family is more important than any match, he should be at home with his family

Duff, I'm trying to avoid getting into his head too much as it's none of our business but I think it would do far more damage to Murray personally to yank him without his permission than it does to let him make his own decision. And it'd probably break employment law too.

Unless he removes himself from selection he gets considered.

It has to be Murray's call. Hopefully his decision to play is a positive sign that his father is recovering.

We are all mates and know our audience. Anyway, it's not a problem as long as PR is back up before tomorrow so all the Welsh can fuck off back before the game starts.

This.

Not one Madigan/Diack GIF posted or shitfight about Paddy Jackson, or 20 pages dedicated to whether or not Stockdale is actually playing well and its the 99% of the rugby watching public that are wrong, and can't see it.

I was wondering why this thread was at the top...

And I assumed correctly that it was a wave of bandwagoners after the first Irish victory of the year.

Hope that wagon isn't too crowded there ...

Players are injured all the time. We generally have a better injury record than most nations. It's frustrating when we've done all the hard work to get a nearly full squad fit and then have players injured but we're still in good shape.

It is odd to lose JGP and Healy in the captains run, Kelleher, Sheehan and Baloucoune in training all with the same injury
