But yeah, Dave Gilmour's missus said some really pretty libellous things about Roger Waters, Gilmour retweeted it to say they're all provably true. Roger Waters does seem to have gone thoroughly off the deep end of late mind.

Such a shame. I was at Live8, saw the classic lineup for the last time, and it was astonishing. And the one or two times they appeared with each tiger after that were amazing. The reaction of the crowd here, I think in the O2, for Roger Waters The Wall tour, when Gilmour appeared unannounced, tells you how astonishing just a few Floyd gigs would have been.

Roger waters is an absolute fucking genius as far as I am concerned.

He can do no wrong.

England should be extremely proud of all of them, but him in particular.

This trained classical musician and composer/academic is doing a series on the wall, releasing a video weekly..it is fascinating her reaction to it for the first time and hearing what she thinks.

She is halfway through the album, she does a reaction video and a separate deep dive.

Do no wrong musically maybe. Weapons grade bellend outside of that, shilling for putin, putting a star of david on a giant inflatable pig, banging on about the Jewish media etc.

Yeah, I suppose it's not really a surprise to see REFRY throw his support behind Roger "Russia were provoked into this war more than any nation was ever provoked into war before" / "China doesn't suppress its own people, that's bollocks, and Taiwan is just part of China" / "let me just put a Star of David on an inflatable pig during a gig and then claim it's not anti-semitic" Waters, because although I wouldn't expect REFRY to hold those positions, he basically exists to be a contrary miserablist with no desire at all to examine his own behaviour or the shit he spouts. Natural bedfellows in the end.

Particularly dumb since I believe his stance is anti-Israeli (and plenty of us can get behind that) rather than anti-Jewish and he must be aware of both the distinction and the impact of his conflation. IF he'd simply used the Israeli flag in some form of protest (cover it in blood. Whatever) then fine.

If that was the only antisemitic thing he'd done then you might have a point but he has a massive history of blaming all Jews for anything Israel does, or just blaming Jews in general, like saying how the Jewish controlled media and Jewish lobby were the reason books by conspiracy theorist, Assad apologist and holocaust survivor baiter Max Blumenthal didn't sell well.

In a further deterioration of relations, Waters has told the Telegraph he has re-recorded Pink Floyd's iconic 1973 album The Dark Side Of The Moon, to reclaim it from his old band.

"I wrote The Dark Side of the Moon," he said. "Let's get rid of all this 'we' crap. Of course we were a band - there were four of us, we all contributed - but it's my project and I wrote it, so, blah."

According to the official credits on the album, Waters wrote all the lyrics and contributed music to five of the 10 tracks.

In his Telegraph interview, the musician tore into his bandmates, including late keyboardist Rick Wright, claiming they "can't write" lyrics.

"Well, Nick [Mason, drummer] never pretended. But Gilmour and Rick? They can't write songs, they've nothing to say.

"They are not artists. They have no ideas - not a single one between them. They never have had, and that drives them crazy."
Reunion gig might have been cancelled now...

Picasso was an uber c**t in regards women. In all probability he was a paedophile too: having sex with Raymonda, a girl he "adopted" from an orphanage. When he'd done with her, he threw her back in the orphanage. I still appreciate/enjoy his art but as a human being, he was repulsive and I recognise him as such.

Noted. The cover was actually inspired by Arthur C Clarke's book, Childhood's End. Even more ironic if the grim rumours surrounding his life in Colombo are true!

Here's a particularly pleasant tweet from him where he peddles the idea that the White Helmets staged a chemical weapons attack.

I'm a big fan of Pink Floyd. Waters is a very talented lyricist but all his best work came when he was still in the band. I've listened to a little of the work he's written and published since he left PF and what little I have heard, it wasn't notable so clearly, Waters got something else from the other band members, they weren't just A.N Others who played instruments. There was chemistry.

The lyrics in One of my Turns are very dark but it's written by a bloke right at the top of his craft;

Day after day, the love turns gray
Like the skin of the dying man
And night after night, we pretend it's all right
But I have grown older, and you have grown colder
And nothing is very much fun anymore
And I can feel one of my turns coming on
I feel cold as a razor blade, tight as a tourniquet
Dry as a funeral drum

One of the things we have to remember is that these aging rock stars did shit loads of drugs back in the day. They’re maybe not the first people to look to for political analysis. Or are we going to wait and hear Metallica’s views on the USA debt default?

Given how often they've routinely lost huge sums on extremely ill conceived projects (That awful 3D movie, the Orion festivals, etc), they're definitely not the first band I'd consult on matters of financial management  I think they lost something like £30M+ on the movie alone!

Absolutely. I remember going around the Reina Sofia years ago and thinking how did this conman manage to steal a career producing "art" that an eight year old would be embarrassed to present for a school project. The only time I've ever come out of an art gallery feeling angry and cheated (notwithstanding I only went there to see Guernica, happily my soul was soothed in the Prado and Thyssen-Bornemisza).

Oddly I went the other way around. When I was first introduced to Miro by an art loving gf, that was my exact reaction. I changed after going to the Fundacio Miro (sp?) and reading about him.

I think this is the epitome of the art debate: clearly all meritorious art cannot be purely photographically representational as the classicists would have had us believe for centuries until the Impressionists and Surrealists told them all to f**k off. But that opened the can of worms: it smashed down the door for spoofers like Trace Emin to exploit the self proclaimed art "cognoscenti" who reach for ever increasing sh*te as they attempt to justify their existences by snootily claiming only they can see and appreciate what the plebs cannot.

Is Miro an Emin? We won't agree but I think not.

It’s difficult to digest any great art when you know the artist is a cock of the highest order.

I, for example, can’t read an ER post or watch a Tom Cruise film without feeling nausea at a visceral level.

But he didn't use the Israeli flag. And that is the problem.

And this comes from someone who wasn't aware of his fuller past on this and tried to provide some reasoning for his comments on PR. It's funny how frequently how people accused of being antisemites use Israel to "accidently attack Jews/make anti-Jewish imagery, or insight know anti-Jewish tropes" almost daily.
