I've listened to a little of the work he's written and published since he left PF and what little I have heard, it wasn't notable so clearly, Waters got something else from the other band members, they weren't just A.N Others who played instruments. Oddly I went the other way around. When I was first introduced to Miro by an art loving gf, that was my exact reaction. I changed after going to the Fundacio Miro (sp?) and reading about him.

I think this is the epitome of the art debate: clearly all meritorious art cannot be purely photographically representational as the classicists would have had us believe for centuries until the Impressionists and Surrealists told them all to f**k off. But that opened the can of worms: it smashed down the door for spoofers like Trace Emin to exploit the self proclaimed art "cognoscenti" who reach for ever increasing sh*te as they attempt to justify their existences by snootily claiming only they can see and appreciate what the plebs cannot.
