When the French maul goes to ground, it is never because of an Irish player.

But this ain’t the 6 nations - actually think I prefer U20’s the past few years teams are fresher less coaches working the opposition out

The tournament is the U-20 Six Nations. It counts.

A kick up the asse of the French and they wake up.

But without a decent lineout and scrum, we will go nowhere.

Is this like the trick RTE play when they say Ireland v Germany or something and it’s women’s football

No, as the U-20 is quite clear, but it's the teams involved in the 6N proper mirroring the senior tournament's fixtures. Clearly more than just a generic U20s tournie.

The French are so used to being blown against that they did not expect that scrum to be theirs! :lolno:

Not too much to worry about though. There is a gulf in class on the pitch.

The level of French discipline is appalling. I feel like throwing up really when I see that. Wonder what they teach them in France.

They all come from different clubs so can't say.

But basically, Ireland is moving forward in contact and support is there, the French don't have the time to compete in the ruck and Ireland accelerate the game in an ever self improving momentum. Impressive stuff really.

Still not out of sight at all though. Think we've been better than the 6 point lead, hopefully we'll pull away in the second half.

Most of the U20 stuff is on the other thread. Yes, discipline is dire but the fwds are getting hammered again so it'd not really surprising.

I'll stick to my view that this is the worst U20 team I can remember.

Quinn isn't the first cousin of an openside. Put him on a fast surface and it gets to comical levels. It's like watching John Hayes trying to play sevens, his thought bubble has barely left his arse when the game unfolding in front of him demands he rethink, and he just can't seem to keep up.

Feck it anyway, I was hoping the underage hype around him would mean Munster had the beginnings of a conveyor belt coming through, with him folllowing Kendellan. Oh well.
