France deserve the last chance to be fair because that line out was thrown halfway to Kinsale.

Well that was a good game but a terrible start by the French and ill discipline killed us.

Meh

The French players could have won that it; they had enough opportunities to make the ref irrelevant

It was a really weird throw. I've just looked at it again and unless there's a lot of wind, I'm not sure how it went on the trajectory it did. It looked straight initially so could well have gone the 5 straight. It definitely turns after it's gone 5.

Prendergast is right, the defensive sets on the line with 13 men where they held out was crucial.

Sam Prendergast could be the next Sexton. He has that aura about him

Indeed, but I think, ultimately the penalty count is like 3/2 against France.

We've been here before with Byrne though. I don't disagree that he looks excellent.

Nope. Was 10/12 near the end and it was fairly even from then on.

Entertaining game and great result but I'm not comfortable with these wins when dodgy ref calls are a factor..... Unless we're playing Wales of course

Great game
the U20s play with an exuberance and a freedom we wont see the rest of the weekend
Unlucky France, we got a few lucky calls there at the end

Yep, him and the pack should be enough to see Ireland through.
No idea what the current English U20 crop is like though.

Which dodgy ref call do you think made the difference?

There was lots of marginal stuff but it balanced out.

I think he looks much more solid than Sexton did when Sexton started appearing for Leinster, years older. Just oozes confidence. Sexton is a worrier. Unsure if that's long term a problem but looks great right now

Don't know if l can stay awake for the main event. Got up at 3.30 for the second half, now of to play golf, which means boozy afternoon, the pub at 18.00 and then the match starts at 20.45 here. A long day ahead
