I don't think it did, no.

I struggle to believe you actually watch or have played rugby. I mean, before you protest, I know you do and have but it's still a struggle to match it up while you bullshit on about just adding missed kicks and thinking the game would pan out exactly the same.

Let me start by giving you a clue. We were under the cosh for ages before France finally took the lead. Now, what happened next?

If you're going to go on about missed kicks costing games then you have to admit that the knock on from the kickoff effectively gave France a try. 19 out of 20 he catches, that, way higher chance than the kicks.

The last French conversion was way more important than any of the previous misses. Nearly won them the game.

I know for a fact you definitely haven't played rugby past school (did you play in school?)and it quite obvious. If a team builds up a lead by getting their kicks it makes you chase the game. You do understand that but given I bet you have not played you probably don't understand. Again I asked you if Nicholson got a pass in open space.
Ireland should have been well ahead in the first half but were sloppy. This is very good team 1-10, Cooney and Merlean weren't bad. This is a great win and they showed true grit.
They conceeded 9 tries in 2 games, if they don't sort that out it could bite them in the ass

You guys ever see that movie The Buttery Effect starring early 2000s Hollywood Hunk Ashton Ketchup?
Well imagine the missed kicks are like that.

Oh sweet jesus Christ.

You even talk about how scores affect the ebb and flow of games yet can't make the connection with that happening for the French but somehow not being relevant to us?

You're as bad as the Bok supporters thinking they'd have beaten us if they'd made their kicks. They couldn't even add that day but it's the same point. Teams react to scores and certainly when it comes to missed penalties you have a different field position for ones that are made. France's missed penalty even had them with possession under the posts, ffs.

Keep off booze stats even Commentators said at end about missed kicks being difference. It wasn't like we were scoring tries at will.

2 conversions and 1 penalty. In your world the penalties cancel each other out. So 4 whole points and he nailed one from the touchline he wasn't expected to get.

Massive, massive difference. I mean the not taking the 3 before half time and the drop after retaking the lead are completely irrelevant. Costing us 10 points in total but those 4 points from conversions were the difference.

Anyway, I'm out.

No, I'm not interested, thanks.

I don't know why it would make 10 less than 4 anyway, if we just get to pick individual errors to change the scoreline.

Our lineout was class and first time I can remember seeing an Irish scrum push a French scrum off its own ball. There will be quite a few of that pack who will get senior caps.

What a surprise bluster as usual, you are welcome anytime to come down and play. Then we can see who has played the game. Given it was you who questioned it.

Funny how you are missing most of what you said. Anytime stats come on down what are you afraid of remind me again of your playing CV and making decisions on the pitch?

It was wakes wasn't it. I haven't forgiven the
Scots for Geordan Murphy breaking his leg when he was a class act. I haven't even worked out how is their fault.

Had a few half breaks, he doesn't really make many mistakes. He is a good footballer plays outhalf for his club sometimes as well. Similar to Jimmy O'Brien probably be a decent pro, will see how he progresses.
No one would have picked Keenan out at this age so you never know.

That was an epic match. I thought we left one or two tries behind us in the first half by keeping it tight instead of going wide. I'm also pretty sure this is the first time those Irish lads will have come up against equally big players who don't give soft shoulders.

The French maul when we had two forward YC's knowing that we'd have at least another if not red if we took it out, was both clever and well executed.

Commiserations to France, but I'm sure the Irish team will learn a lot from that.

Prendergast, Gunne and Gleeson have stood out in a team that will produce a shed load of pros.

All the games so far except Wales - Ireland have been pretty tight. Scotland seem to have closed the gap a bit, but are slowly losing players to injury and may struggle as the tournament progresses. Even if we end up with the wooden spoon it is hopeful that they are more competitive than in the past.
