I thought ASMO set this up 2 or 3 years ago... during the unstable PR period...myselfandmydog wrote: ↑Sat Feb 11, 2023 7:40 pmYep same name on PR, to be honest I thought I already registerd here. The ref was kak.
France missed 25 odd tackles, so nearly 10%. I only caught the last 25 mins and the intensity must have dropped off the way the first half was written up. Good to see defence was optional at times, must give you NH types a nice Supe feel.

Doris is a machine. Some turn around from the old days when Ireland would blow themselves out after 60 mins, now we are the fittest.
Happy to see our scrum hold up against the behemots. Still a worry. Bealham has become a great all round TH.

Bealham has been a very good player for years. He's just had to live in Furlongs shadow.quarter2four wrote: ↑Sat Feb 11, 2023 9:28 pmDoris is a machine. Some turn around from the old days when Ireland would blow themselves out after 60 mins, now we are the fittest.

Software update gone bad it seems.myselfandmydog wrote: ↑Sat Feb 11, 2023 7:26 pm Hi lads, delighted I remembered this place! Can somebody help - is the PR forum down? I am only seeing posts from the 9th of Feb
Yep - Gas listening to people rave about his handling with a "who knew" type shrug! Eh anyone that's ever watched him play! While he's not Furlong, he's a damn fine player and one aspect where I knew there wouldn't be any fall off at all would be with his hands.Hellraiser wrote: ↑Sat Feb 11, 2023 10:05 pm

Having said that, I was a bit anxious about his scrummaging against the very best sides, but he was solid as today.

That's a diplomatic way of putting it. Barnes' initial comment put him in a hole he had no interst in drawing anyone's attention to. He was vested. The initial call was a poor one, but his subsequent handling of it deserves to see him stood down. End of.EnergiseR2 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 11, 2023 11:22 pm Looking back at the match now and the Lowe decision is understandable but the red is fucking mental. Its because Wayne says immediately as its happens 'it's fine for me'. He then finds his way back to those initial words
It's not about whether he has good hands or not but whether he could get his timing right at the highest level, a level he doesn't often play at with today being the biggest test of his career. Which he passed with flying colours.PornDog wrote: ↑Sat Feb 11, 2023 11:21 pmYep - Gas listening to people rave about his handling with a "who knew" type shrug! Yep you'd never of known from any of his past 30 international caps. There's a reason he's been in the 18 shirt for the past 3 seasons. The only reason he's not in the 3 shirt is Furlong.CM11 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 11, 2023 11:27 pmIt's not about whether he has good hands or not but whether he could get his timing right at the highest level, a level he doesn't often play at with today being the biggest test of his career. Obvious from that. A poor decision but perhaps poor direction from the TV.Grandpa wrote: ↑Sat Feb 11, 2023 7:16 pmTouching the grass after the grounding was way later on. Big difference between starting and bench and even including from the bench that's the best he's played for Ireland today.Turbiner wrote: ↑Sat Feb 11, 2023 11:38 pmYep you'd never of known from any of his past 30 international caps. As I posted earlier, the six nations run the broadcast. Nothing to do with local TV director.Ted. wrote: ↑Sat Feb 11, 2023 11:40 pmObvious from that. Should have been down to 14 for the rest of the game anyway
Now I'm just somebody that you used to know.
They haven't peaked. They are the youngest team among the Tier 1 teams. Ireland is just head and shoulders above other nations right now. And a number of French players are just toast because of Top14+Heineken Cup+international demand.
Ireland also had a gentle warm up match, whilst France had to tough it out against the Italians.

It’s also a great angle of the no arms tackle. Penalty try.Grandpa wrote: ↑Sun Feb 12, 2023 12:15 amThe ball is a foot above the ground in that picture!

Nah. Yellow card and penalty try. And considering sexton missed the conversion, you’d think they’d be happy that ireland only came away with 5 there.
Had that argument with my old man.Duff Paddy wrote: ↑Sun Feb 12, 2023 7:25 amIt’s also a great angle of the no arms tackle. Penalty try.
Definitely no arm shoulder barge.
But theoretically Lowe is jumping into the tackle. Or is it stipulated that jumping into tackles is OK in the act of scoring a try? Obviously the entertainment value of those type of tries should trump silly rules if the infringement does not present a danger to opponent players.
Ian Madigan for Ireland.
