Why are there so many Welsh kids in Exeter? A lot of their academy go through the uni and when I was there remember West Country kids got some sort of discount/bursary for going to the uni, but I don't recall there being anything similar for Leekists.

I played for a local team on the outskirts of Paris for half a season which was great but always wished I’d gone to the South West - I had an invitation from a village team in that area as well that I didnt take up. Feeling a bit down thinking about it even now.

It’s my dream in the next 10 years to get a place down that way and try and get involved with the local team. Won’t be the same as playing obviously, but might go some way to ease my regrets

It's a very different culture, especially in the villages in the mountains. I feel privileged to have had that time - the apero was always epic, on away games we'd stop the bus home and get the BBQ out - sausages and 51 pastis - the whole plateau would turn out when we went on a good cup run - they got much bigger crowds than Accies did and they really meant it - the noise was great.
