President Trump and US politics catchall
Talk about hoist by his own petard.“In my administration, I’m going to enforce all laws concerning the protection of classified information,” Trump said in August 2016. "No one will be above the law.”
“We can’t have someone in the Oval Office who doesn’t understand the meaning of the word confidential or classified,” Trump said in another campaign trail statement, according to the indictment.

It added: “Trump told the individuals that the plan was ‘highly confidential’ and ‘secret’.”
The indictment alleges that Trump also “endeavored to obstruct the FBI and grand jury investigations and conceal his continued retention of classified documents”.
The former president tried to obstruct justice via the government’s investigations including by “suggesting that his attorney falsely represent to the FBI and grand jury that [he] did not have documents called for by the grand jury subpoena” and even “suggesting that his attorney hide or destroy documents called for by the grand jury subpoena”.![]()
Here's the indictment, I'm half way thru reading it

It's never good when three of your lawyers are now witnesses against you, & there's a ton of contemporaneous notes & messages with them talking about how illegal the shit he's trying to get them to do is.
I think the latest two leaving is them just deciding he's fucked, & they don't need to be the next lawyer losing their license & going to gaol for a traitor who doesn't even pay his bills

I think we can see here why the lawyer started keeping exact notes

I'm on page 25 of 44, & I think it's much worse than I imagined, because I thought he'd do his usual trick of having loyal fools between him & the crime, & this time he doesn't !
The main focus is obviously on the obstruction, & that's why its the traitor, & a guy called Walt Nauta on the indictment.
He's fucked because the indictment describes the sequence where he gets the demand to produce any documents he's illegally holding, & "Lawyer 1" tells him that he, the lawyer, needs to go thru all the boxes brought down from the WH, & they agree, eventually he'll do that in ~10 days time.
The traitor then immediately tells Nauta to ferry over bunches of boxes to his residence so he can go thru them himself !!!!!
This happens, & he goes thru dozens of boxes in those days. I think this is how he ended up with so many classified docs in his own office.
When "Lawyer 1" eventually gets to lock him self in the storage room with the boxes the traitor had gone thru, he finds a grand total of 38 pages

There are texts, & phone calls, & surveillance footage, & most importantly witnesses like the lawyers, & a maintenance man who corroborate all of this.
Cheers!fishfoodie wrote: ↑Fri Jun 09, 2023 9:06 pmI'm on page 25 of 44, & I think it's much worse than I imagined, because I thought he'd do his usual trick of having loyal fools between him & the crime, & this time he doesn't !

Who the fuck puts a chandelier in a bog ?
and then decides to have it so low, that only a midget won't get clocked in the head by it when they wash their hands ?

Highly recommend having a look thru the indictment. There's really only about 20 pages to look at, with the rest lists of charges & filler.
One thing I missed on the first pass thru was the list of TLA's whose classified information he'd kept.
a. The Central Intelligence Agency (“CIA”).
b. The Department of Defense (“DoD”).
c. The National Security Agency. (Probably Electronic intercepts)
d. The National Geospatial Intelligence Agency.
e. The National Reconnaissance Office. (Satellite shots)
f. The Department of Energy. (Nukes)
...
If the the NSA are super secret, then the NRO are an order of magnitude more covert; they own & run the satellites & keeping satellite images would get anyone else thrown into the deepest, darkest cell for the rats to eat.
From what I've seen, the likely witnesses are probably:
Lawyer 1: Evan Corcoran
Lawyer 2: ??
Lawyer 3: Christina Bobb
Trump Employee 1: ??
Trump Employee 2: Carlos Deoliveira
Trump Family Member: Melania

The Orange Turd is not a happy camper
I WILL APPOINT A REAL SPECIAL ‘PROSECUTOR’ TO GO AFTER THE MOST CORRUPT PRESIDENT IN THE HISTORY OF THE USA, JOE BIDEN, THE ENTIRE BIDEN CRIME FAMILY, & ALL OTHERS INVOLVED WITH THE DESTRUCTION OF OUR ELECTIONS, BORDERS, & COUNTRY ITSELF!

According to the WaPo he's currently shitting himself, because he spent all day yesterday, the day before he gets charged with offences with ~100 years worth of penalty, trying to hire a trial lawyer !Kiwias wrote: ↑Tue Jun 13, 2023 2:31 am The Orange Turd is not a happy camper

And needless to say, he's already been turned down over the few days by most of the best ones available, because they all know he's a cunt, & losing a case won't do anything good for their image.
It will be very funny if he has to go to a state appointed attorneyfishfoodie wrote: ↑Tue Jun 13, 2023 10:44 amAccording to the WaPo he's currently shitting himself, because he spent all day yesterday, the day before he gets charged with offences with ~100 years worth of penalty, trying to hire a trial lawyer !Kiwias wrote: ↑Tue Jun 13, 2023 2:31 am The Orange Turd is not a happy camper

A lot of experts also point out that once a lawyer does sign up, there's zero chance the Judge will let them ditch him, regardless of how badly he behaves, because the Judge won't want the trial to drag on forever; so once you're in, you're in for keeps

Very odd preparations if they expected thousands, considering one guy was able to put his hands the Chevy ?
The Secret Service will have a complete shit fit when the get their breath back, & Miami PD won't get away with this half-arsed shit for his next court appearance.

No, it's up to the Judge; but the experts reckon that Judges just don't like lawyers playing this particular game, to delay, as it fucks with the Judges docket, & immediately a new lawyer comes in, they're going to demand time to get up to speed, etc, etc & we're already talking about a 78 year old on trial, with no decision before the election.Rhubarb & Custard wrote: ↑Wed Jun 14, 2023 9:58 amMost judges wouldn't allow it, but is that cannon?fishfoodie wrote: ↑Tue Jun 13, 2023 12:36 pmVery likely !

The thing here is the judge might want to run the clock out, leaving the prosecution chanting c'mon Aileen but in essence spinning their wheelsfishfoodie wrote: ↑Wed Jun 14, 2023 4:16 pmNo, it's up to the Judge; but the experts reckon that Judges just don't like lawyers playing this particular game, to delay, as it fucks with the Judges docket, & immediately a new lawyer comes in, they're going to demand time to get up to speed, etc, etc & we're already talking about a 78 year old on trial, with no decision before the election.Rhubarb & Custard wrote: ↑Wed Jun 14, 2023 9:58 amMost judges wouldn't allow it, but is that cannon?fishfoodie wrote: ↑Tue Jun 13, 2023 12:36 pm

If she doesn't recuse, after being bitch slapped by her appeal court superiors (all Republicans), then I think the Feds will appeal, & she'll be replaced by a more senior Judge (who will also be a Republican, but probably appointed by W)Rhubarb & Custard wrote: ↑Wed Jun 14, 2023 4:22 pmThe thing here is the judge might want to run the clock out, leaving the prosecution chanting c'mon Aileen but in essence spinning their wheelsfishfoodie wrote: ↑Wed Jun 14, 2023 4:16 pmNo, it's up to the Judge; but the experts reckon that Judges just don't like lawyers playing this particular game, to delay, as it fucks with the Judges docket, & immediately a new lawyer comes in, they're going to demand time to get up to speed, etc, etc & we're already talking about a 78 year old on trial, with no decision before the election.Rhubarb & Custard wrote: ↑Wed Jun 14, 2023 9:58 am

I hope she does recuse, but if she didn't I could also easily see judges say having a ruling overturned on appeal doesn't mean a judge is biased, even when the standard is only a judge must recuse if there's an appearance of biasfishfoodie wrote: ↑Wed Jun 14, 2023 5:36 pmIf she doesn't recuse, after being bitch slapped by her appeal court superiors (all Republicans), then I think the Feds will appeal, & she'll be replaced by a more senior Judge (who will also be a Republican, but probably appointed by W)Rhubarb & Custard wrote: ↑Wed Jun 14, 2023 4:22 pmThe thing here is the judge might want to run the clock out, leaving the prosecution chanting c'mon Aileen but in essence spinning their wheelsfishfoodie wrote: ↑Wed Jun 14, 2023 4:16 pm

And tbh there are plenty of bat shit crazy judges, you could easily get another loon
I would in all this like to know how much the deck was stacked when she was randomly selected, as a point of interest if nothing else

But it was the early days of THIS CASE !, & the appeal was granted because the appeal court stated that she had no right to interfere in the lawful execution of subpoena, & then she compounded this by saying that because the orange traitor was an ex-President, that he somehow deserved a different form of justice.Rhubarb & Custard wrote: ↑Thu Jun 15, 2023 7:40 amI hope she does recuse, but if she didn't I could also easily see judges say having a ruling overturned on appeal doesn't mean a judge is biased, even when the standard is only a judge must recuse if there's an appearance of biasfishfoodie wrote: ↑Wed Jun 14, 2023 5:36 pmIf she doesn't recuse, after being bitch slapped by her appeal court superiors (all Republicans), then I think the Feds will appeal, & she'll be replaced by a more senior Judge (who will also be a Republican, but probably appointed by W)Rhubarb & Custard wrote: ↑Wed Jun 14, 2023 4:22 pm

She's already shown bias, & her desire to should favouritism to the defendant.

And I think bigger picture the judiciary could well take issue with the notion that having a ruling overturned implies unacceptable bias, there's a uniqueness of the case Vs a general theme issue there, and in advance I'd consider that could go either way
