Let's get the real rugby going.
You can be sure this two will throw the sink at each other.
Warm up se moer.

Having seen the injuries other teams are suffering I hope that the All Blacks select a match day squad by picking 23 randoms in All Black jerseys from the crowd.

Ah. Yeah. I’m expecting a full blown test match too. At least from you guys. I can see NZ shielding some front line picks.

Both teams have a lot of depth. Those outside players will be so hungry just to get a chance to impress before the WC starts.

As defending rugby world champions, this is a home game for the Bokke. Anything less than a comprehensive win will be a massive choke.

Foster will select all the Crusaders for this one.
They have to have an eye on the France match, which will need to be full strength. So there might be an element on caution on who is playing.
But don’t want to go in to the WC just after a loss.
I think the XV will be slightly second tier with a first tier bench.

Springboks will be in the same position. Scotland is in great form.Ymx wrote: ↑Sun Aug 20, 2023 6:36 pmThey have to have an eye on the France match, which will need to be full strength. So there might be an element on caution on who is playing.

This is a match which shouldn't be happening. Would've much preferred the Boks to play their best side against a weak opponent they don't play much/ever and will not play at the RWC, Namibia/Uruguay/Georgia/Portugal/Chile somewhere in France.
But we have this ridiculously over priced game instead, it's going to go down very badly if the Boks pick a B team but that's what they should do. Picking a strong side, puts the Boks into a no win situation. Both winning and losing could be bad psychologically for the Boks and fire up the ABs if they meet in the RWC. Better to at least win it then. But that means putting everything into a meaningless but somehow must win match right before the RWC, with a loss becoming really quite bad.
SARU and NZRU both got greedy.

Yep. It was a game for greed. Might well be a gentleman’s agreement to put out B sides. That would make me pleased I didn’t fork out for it, at least._Os_ wrote: ↑Sun Aug 20, 2023 7:05 pm This is a match which shouldn't be happening. Will find out in a day or so, seeing as you announce your team so bloody early !!!
I think we need it though_Os_ wrote: ↑Sun Aug 20, 2023 7:05 pm This is a match which shouldn't be happening. After this game its more than two weeks to Scotland, then two weeks to Ireland then 3 weeks to a tough QF
Without this game we are even more half cocked if we get a QF
NZ has this game and France then games they have no chance of losing for several weeks before a tough QF
All Blacks dismiss 'cotton wool' for World Cup warm up
While some may consider fielding the top team in Twickenham too much of a risk, [Ian] Foster has a clear and decisive view of how he’ll manage his players in the match.
“I won’t be protecting anyone,” he told reporters as the team left for Europe. “You don’t win World Cups by putting people in cotton wool.”

Well more or less the same Springbok team lost in round 1 against the All Blacks and won it in the end in 2019. Losing this match will mean much more then you can imagine. Keep them grounded and work harder.

I imagine the RFU are anticipating seven lean years, & they haven't even had the seven fat years before hand to live off.Guy Smiley wrote: ↑Sun Aug 20, 2023 5:43 pm
holy screaming bucktooth ducks, Batman. Who's hosting / raping the wallets for this?
Honestly I think we can do without this game.
We've gotten off quite lightly when it comes to injuries and red cards, so far. It would be terrible if we lost players in our last warmup.
We can't risk the likes of Willie and Manie. Kolisi probably needs another 50-60 minutes and that's it.

Presumably with C teams since nobody will want injuries this close to the comp proper.OomStruisbaai wrote: ↑Sun Aug 20, 2023 3:14 pm Let's get the real rugby going.

Twickers looks even more like a prison block when there's water running down the concrete sides.
I couldn’t find anything under £140 on ticket master?!!
Anyway, it gets worse, I’m now going to be at the in laws in Devon.
