It's probably the best tactic against the Bok rush-defence. If you get enough ball and Russell fires, you'll scores bags of tries.Biffer wrote: ↑Tue Sep 05, 2023 3:40 pm Scotland's aim is going to be to run a couple of phases in the middle using a mix of Tuipolotu and back rows, with the structure we've seen recently where the alignment of Russel and Huwipolotou, with a back row included is such that you can't immediately tell who the ball is going to even after the SH has released it. Cause a misalignment that causes the SA winger to crash in too early or on the wrong man so Russel can put the long pass over the top. That tactic has been key for the last eighteen months and has been developed with that defensive tactic of the winger crashing in tight on the angle in defence. That'll be backed up with cross field kicks from Russell

Yeah, and it's the particular tweak of the winger crashing up and in in defence that it's designed for.Sandstorm wrote: ↑Tue Sep 05, 2023 3:47 pmIt's probably the best tactic against the Bok rush-defence. Match preview for the Scottish Rugby Blog. Spoiler - the stats really don't suggest much chance for Scotland. But then who knows what's possible if they can get ball in Finn Russell's hands 30/40 times.

The Scots won't have the space and freedom they had in the warmups, against the Boks.
Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.

Or until Libbok, Faf and Willy have an off-day with the boot.average joe wrote: ↑Wed Sep 06, 2023 6:40 am The Scots won't have the space and freedom they had in the warmups, against the Boks.

Our defence will be a wall and the backs will just have to fall over the line to score, if they get a chance cause the war will be won upfront. Our forwards will mash them into melted mars bars.Sandstorm wrote: ↑Wed Sep 06, 2023 6:45 amOr until Libbok, Faf and Willy have an off-day with the boot.average joe wrote: ↑Wed Sep 06, 2023 6:40 am The Scots won't have the space and freedom they had in the warmups, against the Boks.

I am sick and tired of the lack of faith in Libbok. Geez man. You dont hear this negativity about other players. Always the fall guy.OomStruisbaai wrote: ↑Tue Sep 05, 2023 3:55 pmLibbok is the key. If he get it right we'll be ok.
Others can have a shit day knocking on and missing tackles for tries and still get MOTM. We lose its Libboks fault

If a team from any nation under-performs and loses, then the #10 is usually involved in the criticism. They miss kicks, can't get the backline moving, get mowed-down by rampaging Loosies, etc, etc
It's not a position for sisses on Facebook.
Nor here aparantley if your name is Manie Libbok.

Its a WR world Cup ruling that keep them from announcing the team. If they get permission they will annouce it to night.

Looks weak
Risky selections.
Rassie obviously reckons he can have 2 teams and still win the RWC

Moodie and Kleyn injured apparently
I would have preferred Mapimpi on the wing instead of one of the midgets and AE at 12… also would have preferred 2 locks on the bench but with Kleyn out i guess it is fine like that.
Like that Willemse starts at 15
Go Bokke

Like the idea of Duane coming on as some of the stronger carriers in front row and Kolisi goes off.
Was really expecting Reinach on the bench

Reinach is too slow these days. He can play against Romania next weekend.TheNatalShark wrote: ↑Wed Sep 06, 2023 7:52 pm Like the idea of Duane coming on as some of the stronger carriers in front row and Kolisi goes off.

Oh yeah, as much as I've slagged him off the last year I do think Williams is the better option, but thought where we had seen Reinach in the build ups meant he was higher in the pecking order.Sandstorm wrote: ↑Wed Sep 06, 2023 8:24 pmReinach is too slow these days. Put on a bunch of £1 accas for the weekend games, all Scotland handicap within 10 (couldn't be bothered going to win outright tab)
And £1 @ 225 for France/Scotland final

Surprisingly, I'm still fully signed up to expecting both a brilliant Scotland performance and a loss at the same time, and have neither nerves nor The Fear as a result. It's decidedly weird and possibly unhealthy.

All the money you made will never buy back your soul
If that's the best you've got there's not going to be much spite in here.OomStruisbaai wrote: ↑Thu Sep 07, 2023 10:14 amAbout time you get fucking up for this test. Wearing a skirt wont help anybody.
Maybe it sounded better in that Dutch dialect you pretend is a language.

As I said in the Scottish thread, I can't wait or this to start but have no hope, you guys are kryptonite to how Scotland play.
Maybe it would be easier if the spite was easy to conjure but it's tough to pretend to be spiteful against the country that gave us the Kgalagadi, Drakensberg, Mandela, Etzebeth, Kolisi, Van Der Merwe, Schoeman, Nel, Steyn and gave proper born Scot Huw Jones a good education.
All it would leave is to make fun of your general lack of intellect but that's a protected characteristic these days and I'm a law-abiding citizen.
