You could always start the 3rd Place Playoff thread and argue with the Argie fans on the Bored instead.

NEWS FLASH: "People who have never supported the Boks, still aren't supporting them. Bok supporters shrug."

Got to say, when the Boks are winning and everyone hates them, those are the best times to be a Bok supporter. The two go together, the Boks aren't hated when they're losing, no one cares then.

Feel a bit bad for the Bok supporters who don't understand this and are taken by surprise every time. Still they always come round, even our best rugby journos who always go out of their way to be gracious, come round in the end. You see it on here also, when SS starts liking my posts rather than giving me constant abuse for being a doos. That happy place where Bok supporters aren't arguing over kak, and everyone else just wants the Boks to lose.

You would be better off embracing being the second most disliked side (Boks win that one too as you say), rather than trying to shame us or something.
must say the Kiwis and Tonga have a soft spot for us. When that end whistle go the winners have sympathy with the losers. At least Farrell was very humble this time, not like in the final in 2019.

Willie has been a doos on saturday. He have this kak attetude for some time now. Maybe the fact that he go to the Bulls

2003 Bok side were less popular after Kampstaaldraad and one of Divvy's C-teams upset a few Welshmen I recall.

Lol, I've never even heard a soutie use the word "cunt" never mind some one of Bongi's background. It's just Curry being an ignorant twat and trying to get an opposition player in trouble with the ref, also the British press doing their thing by trying to create controversy to sell papers. As for the "other way around" comment , it seems to be spouted by some dodgy people on Twitter decrying black on white racism, so apologies if I don't take it that seriously
Well Willie Le Roux told a Tongan to ‘Fück off you black cūnt’ so it has been the other way round. I don’t think he was referring to the black kant either.
When did this happen?

I think certain Bok fans conflate people disliking their being obnoxious and neutrals not finding South Africa's play particularly interesting a lot of the time with hatred of the national team.

Similarly Le Roux - its completely uncalled for poor sportsmanship. To rub your opponents face in a loss like that there is no excusing! He didn't murder anyone or anything, but it is inexcusable poor sportsmanship!

While the Saracen's cohort and their whooping and hollering is annoying and they deserve all of the stick they get (especially as it seems to have spread), but in game twattery is very different to after the final whistle poor sportsmanship.

If certain Saffas are oblivious to that difference then there isn't much hope for ye! Willie behaved like a cunt and you should all be embarrassed by him!

* For what its worth, POMs "You're a shit Richie McCaw" sledge, though in game, was fucking shit and its embarrassing that our media held it up as some epic sledge. It was shit and was made worse by us patting him on the back for it.
Im not sure there is any difference between all the English whooping, backslapping and cheering when a Saffa made a mistake during the game and what LeRoux did after the game. During the game itself the Saffas didnt indulge in the same shit as the English did when an English guy made a mistake or they turned the ball over, they got on with the game as normal. I have a degree of sympathy with LeRoux who having had to endure all the English shithouse behaviour during the game took the opportunity to turn the tables and rub their noses into the ground at the end. If England want to behave the way they do during the game then they need to accept they will get it done to them when it doesn't go their way. Suck it up guys!

My recollection is that was in game, not after the final whistle, FWIW.

Also it was to Byron Kelleher, so, you know...

Really?

I don't hear or see him say that.

Willie is from South Africa where the majority of people are very sensitive to anything racist.
Should he have said that he would have been booted out of the team. Of this I am 100% sure.

As part of your overall ouevre for the last several years, the whole using your backline thing is still more of an exception than a rule.

Just my view, but I’m genuinely surprised this is a discussion we’re having on a rugby message board. There are many ways to win and they’re all valid. The important thing is winning, right? So, you can play attractive high pace rugby, you can play conservative rugby where the ball never goes past ten, and you can play somewhere in between. You can play a game designed to drag a better team down and stop them playing, you can tear them apart with your silky play, or someone in between. You can play to the weather, you can ignore the weather, or someone in between.

The important thing is that England and South Africa are both teams that I would like to see whoever they are playing score more points than they do. )unless they’re playing Ireland. Or the Welsh. And I don’t like it when the shackle draggers win)

Made sense given the conditions, but it was still limited and boring. Unfortunately, that's generally how he's been having us play even when it's not pissing it down.

I watched the game with a mate in a mildly hungover state. We joked a little at the start of it about how we both couldn't decide who we'd rather see lose... neither of us really favoured picking a winner.

As the game wore on it got funnier and funnier... the Boks looking unable to deal with England's wet lettuce leaf of pressure while England looked determined to avoid any semblance of attscking play apart from one, almost accidental chip through that nearly resulted in a try.

Neither team looked deserving of support.

The resulting meltdown on this thread pretty much captures the worst of it in words. The paranoia of SA supporters on full display... the world is out to get us. Graceless posturing after what was a very lucky win... a bunch of you going the full le Roux.

Never go full le Roux, everybody knows that.

He's got me wearing my Boland Kavaliers jersey again. In the modern era it's often just guys working a job (there's a video of Ruan Ackermann celebrating like any passionate Bok fan, he'll probably play for England, it's just a job). Le Roux isn't that he's a throwback to another era, he fought his way up from the Kavaliers which isn't much above SA club grade, you would struggle to find a lower starting point. A guy like that plays for the Boks or he doesn't play test rugby, heart on the sleeve nothing held back, doesn't care what anyone else thinks and would die for the team.

Every classic moment in Bok rugby needs an iconic photo to go with it, Le Roux's "destruction" of rugby:

I think this is fairly conclusive that Curry has misunderstood what Bongi was saying.

I don't blame him for asking the question, but I think a lot of people owe him an apology.

Vok me but the English are worse than the French......and thats taking something. Bitter kants.
But its been like that with them the entire RWC....they really have brought nothing to the table bar reffing controversy.
