Not looking forward to it. If it was a boxing match the ref would stop it after 5 minutes

We should be beating Scotland at home, regardless of what the Mockers think.

Scotland are a decent side and are certainly capable of winning tbf, but it would be a serious shitting of the bed from an Irish POV. Shades of 2019 with Schmidt's wheels coming off after beating NZ in 2018 come to mind in that scenario.
Ian Madigan for Ireland.

Yup. As I mentioned, I had a feeling England were going to do a job on you at the weekend, but they had the tools available if it all clicked. We can click away but we don't have the pack or physicality to cause an upset.

Not worried....Andy will have the team ready to go and what is looking like a nice day in Dublin. Injuries seem to me minor.

And has been stated, this could be the last match for some in a green jersey...going to send them out 6N Champs...

Honestly, anything less than a 15 point win and I will be disappointed. No, I did not think they would be easy last week.

McDowall deserves his 2nd cap, it's a pity it'll be in a 20 point drubbing.

I understand the 6-2 split last week less if he's gone 5-3 this week. I'm also uncomfortable with Kinghorn covering 10. If, like last week, neither Russell or Kinghorn feel like playing in the 2nd half there's fuck all to be done. The only positive is that Rowe and Redpath stand a slightly better chance than Healy getting on meaning that maybe (only maybe) 1 of the underperformed backs might be changed.

Well we picked the empty shirt again that is Murray, so if we have more injuries in the backs we're stuffed again.

Being loyal to players is all very well & good, but I can't remember the last match he was in that I didn't groan when he came on, & it's not like there aren't other options; he can't even get picked in his province.

A strange calm feeling ahead of this one, wrote it off as an utter man shaming months ago.

The only thing that will really annoy me is if our arse completely collapses again, which might well happen.

May have to get on the Toonie out train if that happens.

I can take a 10 or 20 point loss if the game ebbs and flows and there are some decent spells in there with a good try or two and Ireland winning it because they are much more composed and efficient. Which they undisputedly are. Because they have better players throughout the team.

Another limp 30-something to 3 result and it's clear the Toonie ceiling has been reached and will not be broken through, with the same weaknesses apparent time and again. So yeah, in that case - let's change tack earfly in this WRC cycle since it's probably the last one in which we have a half-decent team for a good while until we sort out our youth development pathways.

Fine deciding Casey isn't the answer but it's odd that Blade has been written off completely.

I wouldn't be advocating for either Cooney or Doak at the moment, but even so there are literally four other scrum halfs I'd have in the Irish squad ahead of Murray. If Marmion hadn't gone to Bristol it would be 5.

Both Cooney and Doak are similar style 9's to Murray and the shitshow at Ulster isn't doing them any favours.

In Farrell we trust but he does seem to have a predilection for sentimentality.

Until ~2023 I’d have taken that as the starting point in a spread. I wouldn’t now.

Scotland are a decent side. Bit flakey, but full of grunt and running.

Ireland look to be on the slide - a shallow slope downwards, sure, but the decline has begun. They’ll still win. But the WC results and a fired-up England have shown that Ireland are well beatable.

Ireland by 5. With a lot of questions to be asked about Ireland’s next steps.

Ireland are like the NZ in the Dan Carter era or England 00-03 so I expect a minimum 20 point win. Anything less will be a disappointing for the champions elect. Italy beat Scotland and Ireland nilled italy. Ireland 30-Scotland 0

We're more like pre-2003 England (how many grand slams did they blow?), a damn good team but not quite there in terms of dealing with everything that comes their way.
