World class strength at prop from Fletcher Newell making Test front rower James Slipper look like an Australian on a rugby field at the moment.

terrible way to end a very entertaining game
Yeah agree, no way was it a penalty try. Deffo YC though.Kiwias wrote: Sat May 18, 2024 6:20 am What a ridiculous call there. Jumping trying to grab the ball with one hand and the ref reckons he would probably have scored a try. Yeah, in what universe???
No issue with the YC but there is no way the Brumbies player could have caught that ball then scored.

Time to watch Wellington Phoenix

That must have made sadpackers' supporters feel better about themselves for twenty or thirty seconds!Guy Smiley wrote: Sat May 18, 2024 5:13 am World class strength at prop from Fletcher Newell making Test front rower James Slipper look like an Australian on a rugby field at the moment.

And are there two g’s in Bugger Off?
Now that would have been truly extraordinary.

On a more serious note, there's a bit of chatter about Ofa's unpunished head shot on Cam Millar. Fair enough, too - it looked like a red card offence to me. Another incident I think is also worth revisiting was Ethan de Groot attempting not one but two elbow shots to Sam Darry's head as they were both lying on the ground after a lineout (48:40 on the game clock). The first one glanced off Darry's head, but the second one missed. Clear red card offence, imo.

Just got in and in time to see him lay a crunching tackleGumboot wrote: Fri May 24, 2024 7:28 am Another example of Stevenson's lax defence. The only chance he had of dropping Numea was to go low.
Pssst - wanna buy a bridge?Gumboot wrote: Fri May 24, 2024 6:45 am Have a feeling we might see upsets in the NZ derbies this weekend. Reckon the Chiefs will beat the Canes tonight, and the utterly desperate Saders will knock over the Blues tomorrow.
I drink and I forget things.

Canes looking slick, but there's still 40 to go.

He does look quicker...Kiwias wrote: Fri May 24, 2024 8:06 am Bloody hell, that was a stunning Chiefs' try from the kick off in the second half. Am I the only one to think that ALB is quicker this year?
and that last off load was a metre forward
