He's a great player but errors have led to 2 tries for SA.

Considering this is #1 and #2 on the world rankings, it was quite a bleh game.
Nothing much either team can learn from this match.
Except maybe that Kolbe is fast. Fucking fast actually.
Oh, and that Faf has fabulous hair. Almost Percy-like. Almost.

Well Libbok would have been much better but SMZen great in both tests.Sandstorm wrote: Sat Jul 06, 2024 4:52 pm Pollard is kicking Libbok’s place back into the 10 jersey next week.

I enjoyed it. Especially this change in Bok tactics to try and play like Toulouse.troglodiet wrote: Sat Jul 06, 2024 5:17 pm Considering this is #1 and #2 on the world rankings, it was quite a bleh game.

Not the best performance. Very physical. A bit of luck involved for the boks.

Welsh TMO bashing; & I don't think it's undeserved.OomStruisbaai wrote: Sat Jul 06, 2024 7:40 pmRef bashing?fishfoodie wrote: Sat Jul 06, 2024 7:27 pmcan we have a new TMO for the next Test ?, or at least get Ben a guide dog, & let it make the decisionsSards wrote: Sat Jul 06, 2024 7:10 pm Relieved to be 1 up.

I expected to lose this evening, but I don't like seeing tries scrubbed off when everything the rest of us saw it was grounded, & one that was given when we all saw it touched by a player in touch.
If we're going to have TMO's & suffer thru the replays, they need to get the damn decisions right.
Oh, & please shoot the DJ !!!

Officiating side grates a bit but the bottom line is the Boks were the better side & won deservedlySandstorm wrote: Sat Jul 06, 2024 7:57 pm I don’t think Lowe was in touch for Kolbe’s try. TMO got that right.

On to the next test, & while I hope Casey is okay, I also hope someone else gets a shot, & he sits out the rest of the tour.

I think lowe was in touch while he still flung the ball backwards with his right. But the footage was not clear enough to overrule the on field decision try. So one can’t really complain about that refereeing decision

It's was the part after the flung. Ball touched his leg. Look out to me.boere wors wrote: Sat Jul 06, 2024 9:25 pm I think lowe was in touch while he still flung the ball backwards with his right. DJ only put it on at the end. Crowd had a go during the match, rare for SA crowds to sing/chant other than ole ole ole when we're winning.bok_viking wrote: Wed Jul 03, 2024 5:58 pmHaha unfortunately not that one, will only be the Cranberries version and the crowd will add Rassie into the chorus as usual![]()
It's a song about the troubles in Northern Ireland. But we didn't turn it into a rugby song, neither Ireland or SA are short of songs to get precious about, it's not like it's a pro-IRA song (although some regard those as totally fine).
I find it very amusing, Rassie is in quite a lot of heads. Bok fans who went to the RWC just added a twist to a song that was being played a lot.
... Slick has a klein Rassie in his head.

Well, it was strongly associated with Ireland at the WC and they sang it after beating SA, I’m surprised you missed that. So some might say it was SA taking the piss out of them after winning on Saturday

Rassie made a lot of enemies in the past with his ref bashing. He appoint Peyper and turned the corner. The constant ref bashing and complaining by the Irish players cost them the test. Kolisi was very good with communicating with the ref. Credit to him and probably the difference between the two teams.
It was more than a bit of “ref bashing” wasn’t it? He went out of his way to ruin a man’s career over a game of rugby.OomStruisbaai wrote: Sun Jul 07, 2024 8:08 am Rassie made a lot of enemies in the past with his ref bashing. No arguments about Kolisi, a magnificent player, captain and man

Every side at the RWC had a victory song that played on the final whistle if they won (what was Scotland's?). Ours was the unofficial national anthem, meaning of the lyrics is that if you have a problem with a real man be prepared to fight.
Very interesting comments by Rassie in a recent presser. He’s a numbers man and said when Peyper joined the team he told them that on average a rugby referee needs to make over 200 decisions during the course of a match. When viewed in that context getting 10-20 of them wrong is only human and that he gives his players a lot more leeway than that and it’s one of the reasons they as a collective have decided to give refs more grace.OomStruisbaai wrote: Sun Jul 07, 2024 8:08 am Rassie made a lot of enemies in the past with his ref bashing. Thought it was an interesting perspective and well see if it holds when we get some consequential marginal calls against us.
And the issue is that only South Africans seem to think that institutionalised taking the piss out of a beaten opposition is acceptable._Os_ wrote: Sun Jul 07, 2024 8:29 amOf course it's a piss take.Slick wrote: Sun Jul 07, 2024 7:55 amWell, it was strongly associated with Ireland at the WC and they sang it after beating SA, I’m surprised you missed that. You constantly excuse this type of behaviour by saying things like “ahh it’s our culture to be a bit shit, so what do you expect”.

Honestly, I was there at the game and having 50k people sitting there in awkward silence while the medical team does there stuff for 10 minutes was also problematic.Uncle fester wrote: Sun Jul 07, 2024 9:18 am Can we please shoot the DJ before the next game?

After a couple of minutes you could feel the energy and atmosphere seeping out of the place.
I personally preferred that the DJ took some initiative to distract the crowd in that moment.

Not being very honest there?Sandstorm wrote: Sun Jul 07, 2024 6:46 pm Next Test is in Durban. There will only be 4000 people there and the CD player has already been stolen.
The CD player was recovered when the thief got stabbed leaving the playing fields.

You sang it to mock the Boks in their defeat, so we can't use it to mock you back.
Right.
Slick is a Scot who is morally outraged about the Boks. It is not a real Bok thread until he posts. He's our team mascot, he's the lightie that runs out holding Kolisi's hand.Chilli2 wrote: Mon Jul 08, 2024 4:45 am You sang it to mock the Boks in their defeat, so we can't use it to mock you back.
