Southport Incident
I think one of the countries most horrific crimes in recent memory deserves a thread. Even just to express our shock and offer condolences to the families of those killed and fighting for their lives. Luckily it is not something we have to deal with regularly but nevertheless absolutely heartbreaking.

Horrific. Very close to home and really is worst nightmare stuff. Anything with kids just breaks me, but this feels far worse.
We're away at the moment but the venue is a few hundred yards away from my youngest's nursery. My wife has taken him to baby groups there.
Spent yesterday hoping none of my eldest's classmates were involved, as I've no idea how I'd begin to explain that to him. Despite it being an isolated event it will make dropping him off at holiday clubs this summer very difficult.
Blackmac's clearly got a similar issue as my extended family when it comes to Stockport and Southport
Edit - I can't imagine the scene first responders and members of the public would have had to deal with afterwards.

No words can describe the behaviors of this bunch of racist, xenophobic hooligan twats last night. No feckin respect for the loss of children, those grieving nor those looking after badly injured children or family. The two adults badly injured whilst trying to protect the children and those who ran toward danger to rescue the children from harm are a million times braver than this low life and represent the country I belong to more than these feckers. Luckily the 'rent-a-mob racists' are a small but violent minority who must not be allowed to take over the narrative. I feel particularly sorry for the police, ambulance and the emergency staff who having had to face unimaginable horror then have to face foaming mouthed racist hooligans 24 hours later.
However what annoys me more than anything is the completely unacceptable behavior and 'call to arms' from the likes of Farage, Anderson, Tice, Goodwin, et al who basically decided to make the horrors of Southport an opportunity to peddle their filth and racism. My sincere condolence goes out to the poor families, what an unfathomably evil act. Could not even start to think how they will be able to deal with such a precious loss to a man that must be utterly deranged and rotten to his very core.
As for the scenes I saw in the streets, I sincerely hope they get jail sentences for that. Despicable behaviour. The poor law enforcement officials being pelted with bricks and stones without shield, cowards the whole bloody lot of them. Why did the police not deploy tear gas?
