Incredible to imagine my eldest used to be just as chubby and short as my youngest. He's now approaching 6'1" at 15.". My youngest wears a size 9 shoes at 11

And it would seem both are better fishermen than their dad.

I've done it all. Got some decent personal bests. It was always about the boys getting some personal bests.
I was feeding the pinky's with my wife on the jetty. That's what I am reduced to now

Found a new butchery in Jeffreys Bay the other day called BEESLAND.

It has FANTASTIC meat at decent prices.

I bought a 600g rump from them yesterday, it was tender and bloody tasty.

I see Jbay is back on the WSL circuit next year.
It's a must do. They pulled it because there is very little spectator participation. They like to have the drones pulling off to the sea and showcasing a huge crowd on the beach. Let's be honest. It's cold and wet and windy during the contest. Not exactly ideal for spectators. But it's too good a destination not to include

Steak rolls alongside the pitch tonight whilst the boys play 45 overs a side under the lights. Great weather. Amped for it

We ate at the Viswijf Restaurant when we went last year. Not too bad. Highly recommended by the locals. We really enjoyed it..But it was busy with all the pro surfers . Actually I cant remember what we ate....its that long ago. And we struggled to find it at first.... Also ate a lot of junk food at the vendors that line the walk way to the beach during the contest....

We will definitely go back next year when the comp is on....July 11th to the 20th I see

Problem is its in the middle of nowhere . Great if you enjoy peace and quiet but a loooong drive from Cape Town and quite a trek from PE. Its a hard drive just for a weekend....you need to allow 2 days for travel and then your stay time

It's 50 minutes from PE and part of the Garden Route. Sure it's a long drive from CT but it's worth it!! And J Bay isn't sleepy any more, it's got dozens of restaurants and bars today.

What is this dop thing you talk about?
Is it a drink of some sort by any chance?
(I love this thread even though I only understand one word in five)

Dop= drink. I have my grandson visiting the first time from Korea. He is one year old and love meat from the braai. In two weeks I feed him lamb rib bones, biltong, boerewors, pork chops, chicken legs. We had also real boer food, lamb leg. Chop the bone and feed him all the murg.
