Once again England mess the bed with victory in sight. Front row subs, halfbacks, and negative tactics cost us in those last few minutes.
Ford should have kicked the pen, but the drop goal set up from the forwards was barmy and the pass appalling.
Remain totally unconvinced by Scabbers and this England team. A lot of it is just based on run hard and put some effort in. Allow them to play rugby in patches. Anti-rugby and smashing the ball away is never too far off the agenda. This NZ team is a) hardly of vintage quality and b) haven't really stuck a proper coherent performance against us. To go 0-3 against them in the last few months isn't great really.

Hard luck Saes. NZ have to be the jammiest team around for those late, tight ones.

Should have won that. Two shots at it.
Great game of rugby
Great game of rugby

3 tries to one from an intercept. Nah, would have been dumb to lose it (what was the penalty count because we were nearly dumb enough?)Uncle fester wrote: Sat Nov 02, 2024 5:23 pm Hard luck Saes. NZ have to be the jammiest team around for those late, tight ones.

'Unlucky' I guess in the sense they didn't take full advantage of the ABs stupidity. The ABs played all the rugby; unfortunately they also played all the dumb stuff. It certainly didn't help losing Taylor in the first 5 minutes.Gumboot wrote: Sat Nov 02, 2024 5:17 pm That'll do.
Was always going to be another tight one between these teams.
Fair fucks England, the smarter side and largely played the game on their terms. Unlucky not to win it.
All Blacks largely woeful yet again. So many penalties conceded, and so many botched chances... just not good enough.
England 7 New Zealand 11 on penalties. NZ were content to shut down attacks by taking out the supporting playersEnzedder wrote: Sat Nov 02, 2024 5:34 pm3 tries to one from an intercept. That was an interesting facet. Those players were right up level with the ball (in one case in front of it). I would like to promote a case of English obstruction.JM2K6 wrote: Sat Nov 02, 2024 5:46 pmEngland 7 New Zealand 11 on penalties. I was also disappointed that the deliberate maul obstruction by the English wasn't penalised. At one time they actually knocked the ball away from the scrummy they were so far offside. Far too slow getting out of the way and when they do it's towards our line, not the touch line.

“It was a pet, not an animal. It had a name, you don't eat things with names, this is horrific!”
At no point was a supporting player taken out ahead of the ball. And I don't think you understand the maul laws because that complaint sounds like something out of the 90s.Enzedder wrote: Sat Nov 02, 2024 5:57 pmThat was an interesting facet. These Irish commentators don't seem to know the name of a single NZ player.

Indeed, you usually leave that to the IRFU scoutsUncle fester wrote: Sat Nov 02, 2024 6:13 pmAre they supposed to know the names of the 24th-46th most talented players in NZ?Certain Navigator wrote: Sat Nov 02, 2024 6:03 pm These Irish commentators don't seem to know the name of a single NZ player.![]()

I think the IRFU usually starts at about number 72, because they're the guys who know they haven't a chance, but they still have enough desireJM2K6 wrote: Sat Nov 02, 2024 6:16 pmIndeed, you usually leave that to the IRFU scoutsUncle fester wrote: Sat Nov 02, 2024 6:13 pmAre they supposed to know the names of the 24th-46th most talented players in NZ?Certain Navigator wrote: Sat Nov 02, 2024 6:03 pm These Irish commentators don't seem to know the name of a single NZ player.![]()

Springboks will have to be on their best to beat England.
