Scottish flying high at the moment. Glasgow successe gave them a lot of confidence and the Boks will be rusty. Will be a massive test first up.

The Boks always put plastic bags over our heads and suffocate us, this week won't be any different. We will score two or so nice tries, but SA will win. This is how it is. Townsend is not Franco Smith, and apart from the two wingers who are generally useful, there will be too many Edinburgh players in the team.

I love the scheduling of this test.
Friday night Ireland / New Zealand
Saturday late afternoon England / Australia
Sunday early evening Scotland / South Africa
The Friday night test is a bit late, but three evenings of test match rugby is BRILLIANT!

Aye, heading through to Edinburgh too. By the time the match is done I'll be trying to head home on the train. Very inconsiderate
If you are going to insist on doing this underdog shtick, at least have the decency to talk sense. You have just come off the back of the Rugby Championship you madman.OomStruisbaai wrote: Mon Nov 04, 2024 6:53 am Scottish flying high at the moment. Yup, and our now traditional 20 minute penalty fest will see the game out of sight before as absolute mind numbing last 20 when the Boks start tapering down and we can't string a set together. Same every time.clydecloggie wrote: Mon Nov 04, 2024 7:31 am The Boks always put plastic bags over our heads and suffocate us, this week won't be any different. Oom and sense rarely get together in a match thread.Slick wrote: Mon Nov 04, 2024 10:44 amIf you are going to insist on doing this underdog shtick, at least have the decency to talk sense. I think Scotland's looking very good to be fair Slick. We know what to expect from them, I wonder which game plan Rassie will employ. Are they going to play with ball in hand, or are we looking at a slow poison attempt. Should be a cracker anyway. Not a fan of Sunday evening test matches (our time), but it's the Boks versus Scotland, so I should man up a little.Slick wrote: Mon Nov 04, 2024 10:47 amYup, and our now traditional 20 minute penalty fest will see the game out of sight before as absolute mind numbing last 20 when the Boks start tapering down and we can't string a set together. What's the weather looking like?
You guys are just so shit at humble. We were absolutely bloody awful for large parts of our first game for months on Saturday. We scored some nice tries, granted, but it was against a pretty poor opposition.LoveOfTheGame wrote: Mon Nov 04, 2024 1:09 pmI think Scotland's looking very good to be fair Slick. If we play at our best for the full 80, concede fewer than 8 penalties (including not doing our special and conceding 3 in less than a minute) we can definitely compete, but I genuinely haven't seen us do that for about a decade.

It's actually looking quite nice for Sunday at the moment.
15 degrees, sunny, bit of a wind but nothing much. It will change though.

That is better weather than what we are having in J Bay today and tomorrow.Slick wrote: Mon Nov 04, 2024 2:49 pmIt's actually looking quite nice for Sunday at the moment.

Still too windy for Libbok's kicking unfortunately.boere wors wrote: Mon Nov 04, 2024 3:02 pm

Would start Wilco Louw vs Schoeman. The addition of RG Snyman will add woema to the bomb squad.

I haven't even started. We are not in France this time. Kinghorn and Russell are world class.Slick wrote: Mon Nov 04, 2024 10:44 amIf you are going to insist on doing this underdog shtick, at least have the decency to talk sense. Me too, but then I got laughed at and old school, ext.assfly wrote: Tue Nov 05, 2024 9:20 am Looking at the training photos, it could be Libbok to start at 10.
Of our three tests, this is the one I fear the most.
Yup. Boks usually are low-intensity/disinterested against Scotland. I don't know why.OomStruisbaai wrote: Tue Nov 05, 2024 10:24 amMe too, but then I got laughed at and old school, ext.assfly wrote: Tue Nov 05, 2024 9:20 am Looking at the training photos, it could be Libbok to start at 10.

If Scotland play as poorly for 20 minutes mid-game as they did against a weakened Fiji team you'll win with points to spareassfly wrote: Tue Nov 05, 2024 9:20 am Looking at the training photos, it could be Libbok to start at 10.

There are no ifs or buts to this game. The South African pack will overpower our guys off the breakdowns and set piece and they'll win the game reasonably comfortably from there. Anyone who thinks different doesn't really watch much rugby, and hasn't seen any of the recent games between the teams.
And are there two g’s in Bugger Off?
This is always the game that I start crapping on about the intrigue, the clash of styles, what will come out on top? This should be the game that really shows two completely different ways to play the game.
And ultimately Scotland just end up getting squished. I expect no different this time.
I don't hope for a Scotland win, I hope for a competitive match. That says a fair amount about expectations for this one.

Not sure if Fagersons Mrs has had their twins yet.
SA to win comfortably. They're the side that is style is the one we get nothing against.
Yes, seen something posted yesterday.Big D wrote: Tue Nov 05, 2024 1:10 pmNot sure if Fagersons Mrs has had their twins yet.
