American CIA / Black ops fare but well done with decent cast and must have a good budget.

I like it but only problem is it's on Paramount +.
I wouldn't mind paying if everything was consolidated on one platform
I’m a fan and S2 has started well.

None of the standalone services makes money, it can surely only be a matter of time before the studios go crawling back to Netflix as a host for their content or a new aggregator comes into the market. Maybe Apple and Amazon have the cash reserves and other profitable areas to keep running their own services, but unless the regular studios can't keep it up for much longer.

Just finished the Slow Horses season .... jebus but it's great when they just stick with a small core cast, & develop them so you don't have too many things to track, & then just watch them thru the episode !

He probably hasn't said more that a few dozen words of dialog, but I already love Coe as a character, & I'm just waiting for him to show us his stuff next season.

Just a quick check in

Slow Horses - my mate said you can smell Lamb through the tv and you can - I loved it.

Penguin - or Pingu as my non-watching wife calls it. It was quite good, the two leads are excellent and deserve awards, as does the make up department.

House of the Dragon S2 - it was very slow but it did hook me in. I'm not entirely sure what Daemon tripping off his tits in exile for an age did for the story, but hey ho.

The Day of the Jackal - I'm a fan of the film and this is terrific, though I need to catch up on the last two episodes I think. I must read the book sometime, though I've read so much of this genre I'm not sure I'll do it.

Interior Chinatown on Disney +

A weird comedy mash-up somewhere between Law & Order and Last Action Hero, featuring a young Asian guy in New York's Chinatown. It's hilarious!

Considering that Daemon's storyline up till now has consisted of him trying to advance himself, I think it's fair to delve into why he might choose to change track and serve his niece.

There's problems with season 2 but this is not one of them in my view.

Just finished the last series of Tokyo Vice

It's excellent and I love the way they move between English and Japanese in the same conversation

My missus has been watching this and it does get increasingly silly.

It really does!

Still fun though. I think it's like Slow Horses but with rather better written characters.

I thought it was a bit daft/poorly written from the start.

Mixed on it after episode 5. No one can ever accuse a Tyler Sheridan vehicle for lacking production value or quality performances, but the female characters are, as is often the case, pretty thinly drawn (the widowed young mother a notable exception thus far, although it could be the actress elevating her part). The self-aggrandising monologues about the value of oil drilling and the downsides of seeking cleaner energy from a couple of characters feel like they could have been written by Exxon's PR department and grate somewhat.

New trailer for season 2 of Severance out in the last few days. Looks even weirder. Can’t wait!
