They are shockingly bad, how a pro team can not score a single point against a team with 3 off the pitch is just astounding.
The pick and drives followed by being bundled into touch against 12 men was yet another moment of vindication for those of us who never bought into Baxter’s hype

Expecting RCT to be up for this one rather than simply throwing the game.

Lots of empty seats at the Gardens
Odd as they usually sell out all their home matches

There are still people who mention him in the England coaching conversation. Baffling.

Have Castres sent a C team for an away European fixture again?

Maybe a combo of dire weather and knowing Castres will not bother turning up?

It would be a lot easier for everyone if they just forefeited really, but I understand that EPCR would probably frown on that.

Exeter came with a lot of niggle and off the ball stuff in the first quarter of that, one particularly bad one was Bongi prostrate on the ground and an Exeter player bending down and pawing his face with obvious intent, in front of the ref. All that happened was the ref saying "none of that". Once Exeter were blown out on the scoreboard that stuff went away.

Too easy for the Sharks, only worry is the bench props at scrum time. Mchunu got shown up, ref decided he was the problem (which he had been) so by the time of the last one or two scrums it didn't really matter what happened he was getting penalised.

Hooker looked good at 13.

Forever I have said that the competition money for the man tier nations' teams should be based on the points they accumulate. Also, sides should be allowed to dip out entirely if they wish.

CO have too small resources to ever do anything other than keep their T14 existence alive.

Narrator: 10 minutes before Oom made this post claiming Fassi was invisible, Fassi had been subbed for Masuku who went to 10 and Hendrikse went to 15. Oom couldn't see him doing anything, because he wasn't on the pitch.

Reminds me of the years when Diamond would get Sale to fight tooth and nail for 6th place in the Prem (Heineken Cup qualification) so that the club would get their money for participating in the big boy competition, but their performances and the sides they put clearly indicated that their priorities were elsewhere. And I get it, the DoR or head coach's primary responsibility is to manage their club and resources effectively, but it does rather undermine the premise and quality of the competition if some the participants are merely going through the motions to get paid.

Sharks are very good at defending with men down. Won the CC on the back of sensing when a side was weak then pushing the limits and taking any cards both red and yellow on the chin. Not the first time they've been down that many players, then defended everything and won.

Would prefer they didn't do it, but makes for exciting viewing. Has happened a few times now.

No relegation in Eng now. In Fra, you go down, Pro2 is so competitive, you might never come back. I think we are agreeing here that you simply should not get paid.

I was at the most infamous "chuck" of all. Ebbw Vale v Agen in 2002. Agen needed to lose by some mental margin not to qualify. In the opening minutes, Stoltz was through to the try line and so simply threw the ball away: laughing whilst he did it. IIRC, Agen got a 2 year ban.
