I think this merits its own thread.

After Jackson/Olding and Hogg, we have this disgrace, which at least has seen some proper sentencing

I agree, but I not sure the thread name is very good. Shouldn't it read men in general and their attitude to women?

My side is certainly not lily-white in this area. In fact, they were dog-shit but thankfully they have improved a lot of late.

Having the Chiefs Manawa side around them a lot has been very beneficial.

This is a rugby board. The topic deserves respect and binging it home to ‘our code’ is a good way to bring that home.

I understand that but there is an oft peddled view that rugby somehow has better values than, say, football.

The young guys need to be made watch this over and over.

I think part of the problem is that they come out of underage rugby with their egos inflated like a balloon so they think they can do whatever like like.

Let's not forget the self proclaimed "Archbishop of Banterbury" who would probably be seeing jail time if he did it now.

Didn’t something similar happen with topsy Ojo and Mike brown on an England tour to New Zealand ?

Hask is someone who even I find massively unfunny and repetitive, and I love unfunny repetitive running jokes that are so shit they become good. Self dared myself to follow his feed for a month to see if I could appreciate his bantz - I lasted about 4 days before I deleted the cunt.

Young men, huge egos, an alpha culture, high testosterone, plenty of free time and earning large amounts of money. In many ways it’s remarkable there aren’t more incidents

There’s little that annoys me more than people who don’t realise how dim and tedious they really are.
I think I managed 1 maybe 1 or 1 1/2 of a GBR thingycast before I got annoyed with that thick cvnt.

I'd relay a story about a player's name which might sound like Generally Gutless but I don't want to get ASMO into trouble.

It’s hard to say but surely his issues are driven by CTE?

I suppose this isn’t the thread to demand a Rule 1?

Or maybe by his drinking, or maybe because a woman he thought he should “have” didn’t want anything to do with him anymore. Whatever the reason, absolute scumbag behavior and lucky to get away with it with little more than a slap on the wrist

After a bunch of incidents in the James Small, James Dalton era of Springboks I'm quite happy with the character of the current crop of Boks when it comes to this issue.

In a country where gender-based violence is rife, and a lot of the Bok players have been open about witnessing the physical abuse of their mothers as children, it's great that they are using their platform and public profiles to actively campaign against it. Players like Mapimpi and Syia leading the charge.

I hope I don't jinx it by posting this, but in general, the current crop of Boks look like a bunch of solid men and I hope they can maintain this attitude within the team culture. I suspect a large part of it might have to do with the fact that Rassie and Nienaber also went to great lengths to make wives, girlfriends and the players' children part of the Bok's greater setup.
