What is it with teams nowadays unable to coordinate jerseys so they don’t clash? There was a similar incident earlier in the year as well.
This stupid concept of an “away strip” is to blame. Teams should have a normal jersey and an alternate jersey, and if a visiting team jersey clashes the hosts should wear the alternate. It was a great rugby tradition that I really liked.
It’s embarrassing. Teams know 6 months in advance who they are playing.Blake wrote: ↑Sat Oct 10, 2020 6:10 pmWhat is it with teams nowadays unable to coordinate jerseys so they don’t clash? There was a similar incident earlier in the year as well.

Sort out the jerseys at the start of the season - visiting team has to bring the alternate IMO.
I like the nostalgic element of the host team accommodating the touring team who would want to limit their luggage and travel with minimal kit.
It’s something that speaks to the ethos of rugby and something that is quite unique in the sporting world as far as I am aware.
I understand why it was changed, and that it makes commercial sense, but I just liked the idea behind the old way of thinking about it.

Almost as bad as the jersey clash in the Bulls game was Owen Nkumane’s continuous butchering of Stedman Gans’ name in commentary.
Started off as “Grans” then morphed to “Gransman” then flipped to “Stegman” after which he clarified that he was talking about “Stegman Grans”
These smileys are fucking shit.

The Pumas jersey looks like they are wearing grey crop tops with their sunburned boeps hanging out.

Well to be fair, the Pumas have always had Grey Jerseys traditionally, even under the old South Eastern Transvaal it was Grey with red collar, at the time when I played Craven week for them. Maybe the modern tight fit jerseys does not work well with grey and forwards These modern tight fit rugby jerseys are definitely not designed with the traditional forward in mind, unless you have a decent body build they do not fit well at allaverage joe wrote: ↑Mon Oct 12, 2020 5:19 am The Pumas jersey looks like they are wearing grey crop tops with their sunburned boeps hanging out.
You just have to walk around shopping malls in SA to see how ill fitting these tops can be with supporters and their bier boeps walking around in their replica tops

The Bulls were far from clinical on Saturday, they allowed loads of try scoring opportunities pass them by. Specially with turnovers close to the opposition try line. The Bulls forwards were very poor in lose play throughout the match in my opinion. They rarely hit the rucks hard. Most times they did not seem to hit the rucks at all. Every time a Bulls player got close to the Griquas try line, the Griquas players swarmed over the tackle area and got the turnover, with almost no Bulls players in sight. The all seemed to think it was ok to stand around in the back line and wait for the ball instead of going to secure it first. I think they badly underestimated the Griquas team and once they realized this was not going to be an easy game, they could not switch gears. Griquas played very well and as others said, they could definitely give other teams headaches in the coming games, if they are not fully on the ball.
Pumas had a horrific first half against the Cheetahs but I enjoyed watching the 2nd half where they were much more competitive.

Nothing wrong with the grey. The pink at the bottom made it look funny on screen. Probably looks OK from close up but from a distance it looked like sunburned piggy's.bok_viking wrote: ↑Mon Oct 12, 2020 8:46 amWell to be fair, the Pumas have always had Grey Jerseys traditionally, even under the old South Eastern Transvaal it was Grey with red collar, at the time when I played Craven week for them. Yeah i personally do not like the whole red/pink gradient at the bottom of the jerseys. I would prefer a predominantly Grey jersey with a few Red trims.average joe wrote: ↑Mon Oct 12, 2020 11:46 amNothing wrong with the grey. The pink at the bottom made it look funny on screen.
