Robshaw just teed up Dallaglio to talk about the Bath forwards, so he immediately started describing what Finn Russell did

With nothing to play for, i wouldn't bet against it being an "inexperienced" side
Will make for an interesting atmosphere in the Braz household
If it's in Europe we won't be watching as we've finally reached the limit on paying to watch rugby, particularly a tournament where neither of our teams have any chance, and where the outcome is inevitably "moneybags french club Vs team with most of the Irish national side/the other french moneybags club".

On a personal level I'm not sure. I'd like both teams to explore their depth and use it to test younger players given this tournament is a bust. Equally they're both in need of finding form, so full strength sides before the enforced lay off during the 6N would also make sense.

He's an absolute fuckwit. He ended up saying there was mitigation because the attacker was rising(?!)

In reality, the tackler is high, hits upwards, and swings an arm and shoulder straight into the jaw. Absolutely no mitigation.

While I agree with the decisions, we've seen plenty of similar or worse incidents mitigated down by gutless officials for the most spurious of reasons, so I can understand the player maybe feeling hard done by. This, however, should be the standard.

Dallaglio needs to shut up. Official's lives are not going to be made any easier if commentators constantly undermine them.

"Asking a front row forward to change his body height in a split second is very difficult indeed"

but it's totally reasonable for the same player to attempt a huge hit in the same amount of time

Mine must be worse than yours, that or I need an eye test. Thought I'd correctly read the shirt number as 13

Despite the lineout cock up Clermont look omiously muscular in the tight. Really, really want to avoid giving them driving opportunities in the 22 if you're Bath.

Decent match. Clermont have a couple of absolute livewires making life difficult, but Bath comfortably the better team from the start.

It's irritating because he had already put Murley away for what should've been a cracking try and he clearly made the wrong call. Whatever about him getting mashed by Isa, who then did the same to Hammond, because that's life and it's going to happen when a guy who made his name melting people in the Rugby Championship is getting a head of steam.

I will say that "having a mare" doesn't look like that, though. Dombrandt made more carries (16) than anyone else , more tackles (25/2) than anyone else by a mile, more metres (62) than any other forward (and more than any Toulon player), and actually made an impact at the breakdown. Gave away some penalties and made a couple of errors, but that ledger is heavily weighted in his favour. Same with Murley - he should've nailed that first try but he was a big positive for Quins overall.

Baxter is getting flogged after Marler's retirement, Walker is getting flogged after Jibulu's injury, Lamositele is a waste of a signing, Launchbury & Hammond are a dreadful combo and miles off Lewies/Herbst/Lamb, Porter's form has dropped off, Care is a thousand years old, David lacks physicality and Green is just back from injury. Can't fault the attitude in most matches but there are structural problems in the squad at the moment.

Yeah, but you've got the best flyhalf since Barry John apparently so it seems odd that Quins keep losing.

Dayglo's most recent game having been 18 years ago doesn't seem to have conferred upon him any great understanding seeing as how he frequently gets even basics wrong, let alone more complex judgement decisions like card situations.

Cokanasiga reminding everyone that power and pace isn't enough if you also have the ball skills of a house brick. Lucky there was a knockon.

Went for a piss.Tbh being a current player doesn't mean much for understanding the law either. Have seen plenty interviewed down the years, they're often pretty clueless on the finer points or even things like qualification criteria in competitions of which they're partaking.

The ultimate test is whether the card is upheld or rescinded, but it's hard to see where anyone could poke a hole in Adamson's application of the framework. Nothing he said was incorrect.

Lots of whining by the Irish players forever after but he clearly went for the ball with 2 hands.
Using two hands didn't make it a serious attempt to catch, if it did we'd never see deliberate knock-ons given, because all the players would just use two hands.
No. They wouldn't. Because it's entirely instinctive. Which is why players cannot help sticking the 1 hand out despite the inevitable sanction.

{EDIT} What JM said!

It's a central source of discussion amongst les Maritimes: their lack of a decent half back pairing is their biggest problem.

Not much harder in the game than stopping him a few yards out.

Cokanasiga again, sigh. Really frustrates me watching him. Not least because one of the Welsh PR trolls had his weaknesses pegged a few years back and that burns, y'know?

It's his positional play that used to really be a worry, it's improved but still a weakness.

That try just now was outstanding - that's how to keep the low leg drive going.
