JM2K6 wrote: Sun Jan 19, 2025 12:11 pm It was also by far the best Quins performance since at least the win over Saracens and possibly all season given the balance. Great scramble defence, a huge improvement in carrying, much better set piece work and excellent varied attack. Glasgow a little unlucky in that sense.

Home advantage makes such a difference in Europe, too. If you're not one of the 3-4 megabucks teams, the odds are extremely tilted in favour of the home side. Just ten away wins in 40+ matches, 7 coming from the usual suspects of Leinster/Toulouse/Bordeaux/La Rochelle. Makes those Saints and Saracens wins even more impressive tbh.
I hadn’t seen Quins playing for a while but pretty impressed by them last night. Forwards and backs ran hard, I liked that Beard guy who I’d never heard of. Front row held their own. Thought wonder boy was OK, some lovely touches but some fairly awful kicking as well
Beard has been on the fringes of the England squad for a while, but I don't really think he is likely to progress further for a few years yet. Big, quick, can pass - it's a heady mix at club level at least.

Marcus put in a couple of bad kicks and many more really good ones to pin Glasgow back or get over the defence. He threw some great passes and we found a lot of space around the 13 channel as a direct result of his work with the ball. Nailed all his kicks at goal too. Very good all round display, though not flawless by any means.

Don't think Waghorn (the kid at 12) set the world alight but he did what was asked of him and was very solid in defence.

Thanks for coming Leicester.

Now, where's that English commentator to tell us Leicester "will want a high tempo game against the French"........

I did say in Rd1 this was the best attacking backline in Europe. And that includes ST.

Yeah, you can f**k right off because no way you were making that kind of prognosis, nor the types of margins involved.

What's the widest margin for a HEC loss? Please make it stick with Leicester forever.

I imagine Toulouse will pull all their important lads shortly after half time, but if they leave them on this could be a possible ton given how things have gone so far.

Not sure what all the non English are crowing about - the papers are reporting that Borthwick is strongly considering Steward on the wing and Marcus at 15, which I'm certain will strike the fear of God into all of you

Ref being quite kind to Leicester at the breakdown. The Irish would have had all of those go in their favour.
