Tuipulotu injured for 6 nations.
Will he be back for lions?
Will he be back for lions?
Mockers baiting ...
We have Ireland England and Italy away so will finish 2nd or third at best.
Plus Bielle-Biarrey and Jelonch are out.
Injury list is an arm long (especially front row).
Expected back before ended of season.Uncle fester wrote: Mon Jan 20, 2025 2:43 pm Tuipulotu injured for 6 nations.

Feels like we haven’t had a Vintage Six Nations since I reckon 2020, so hopefully that will change

It'll finish up:
France
Ireland
Scotland
England
Italy
Wales
France
Ireland
Scotland
England
Italy
Wales
Swap Scotland and England I reckon. I'm slightly dreading this now.sockwithaticket wrote: Mon Jan 20, 2025 4:02 pm It'll finish up:

We haven't beaten you at Twickenham since 2017. I have zero faith that Borthwick's going to be the man to turn that around, especially as he's currently prattling in the press about considering Smith at 15 and Steward on the wing. That's the sort of rugby IQ you expect from a concussed gerbil.Slick wrote: Mon Jan 20, 2025 4:03 pmSwap Scotland and England I reckon. Italy being genuinely able to compete will make this a very unpredictable tournament. Shame about Wales

We looked like we might have a chance this year. We don’t any more.Uncle fester wrote: Mon Jan 20, 2025 2:43 pm Tuipulotu injured for 6 nations.

It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom - for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.
If your chances are thrown out the window due to one injury, then you never really had a chance - there's always injuries before and during the campaign.Yr Alban wrote: Mon Jan 20, 2025 5:17 pmWe looked like we might have a chance this year. Anyway, that’s easier to say when you have a full league of pro teams

Pffft we don't need injuries to scupper our chances - we'll do it all with poor selections and tacticsSlick wrote: Mon Jan 20, 2025 7:36 pmCummings as well.Ovals wrote: Mon Jan 20, 2025 7:22 pmIf your chances are thrown out the window due to one injury, then you never really had a chance - there's always injuries before and during the campaign.Yr Alban wrote: Mon Jan 20, 2025 5:17 pm

B-B is not likely to be the entire 6N and much as it is a loss it can be covered.laurent wrote: Mon Jan 20, 2025 2:52 pmMockers baiting ...

You know I don't do Jelonch and so that really doesn't bother me at all. Galthie's hard on for him over the infinitely better Cros was a significant contributor to that SA loss.
I would expect Fra to win all their games with the exception of Ireland which is the one, definitely not given. Trying to get to Paris for the Sco game if you are around.
So long as whoever the token Scot they have in the studio is, they take a good long shot at him about how many times we beat him at Twickenham.Paddington Bear wrote: Tue Jan 21, 2025 10:15 amThis will be objectively great fun, absolutely rattling everyone including himselfinactionman wrote: Tue Jan 21, 2025 9:43 am ITV have signed up Eddie Jones as pundit for the 6N

I expect a loss in Ireland and a cock up with England or Scotland.

Wales playing with the roof closed, no issues with that, as long as they don't do all the pyrotechnics beforehand, since the smoke ruins the camera view for a good while.

Duhan - 44 games for Scotland, 30 tries
James Lowe - 36 games for Ireland, 16 tries
Mack Hansen - 25 games for Ireland, 12 tries
Ireland are far more successful than Scotland
vdM is a proper winger alright

An advantage to England kicking off at 4.45 for most matches is that I can bolt down dinner at half time so I can safely ignore the parade of drivelling idiots honouring us with their incisive analysis.inactionman wrote: Tue Jan 21, 2025 9:43 am ITV have signed up Eddie Jones as pundit for the 6N

French Tv has an answer to this: 10 minutes of adds 3 minutes of jingles a d a single replay.Hal Jordan wrote: Tue Jan 21, 2025 10:37 pmAn advantage to England kicking off at 4.45 for most matches is that I can bolt down dinner at half time so I can safely ignore the parade of drivelling idiots honouring us with their incisive analysis.inactionman wrote: Tue Jan 21, 2025 9:43 am ITV have signed up Eddie Jones as pundit for the 6N

It was your (unions) choice to ditch the number of teams you had, does seem more a live with it than complain about it situation. Or at least have a plan to add x number of teams back into the systemSlick wrote: Mon Jan 20, 2025 7:36 pmCummings as well.Ovals wrote: Mon Jan 20, 2025 7:22 pmIf your chances are thrown out the window due to one injury, then you never really had a chance - there's always injuries before and during the campaign.Yr Alban wrote: Mon Jan 20, 2025 5:17 pm

Notable lack of tries against teams that matter.

We're not counting the one he has against Ireland or the four against France then? Okay. Another two against Argentina, and one against Australia, together with the six vs England (yes, we all like to laugh at England, but their ranking is pretty close to Scotland). Granted no tries against SA or NZ (don't think he's ever played against them?). But not bad against the top 8 ranked nations, would you agree?Uncle fester wrote: Wed Jan 22, 2025 8:21 amHe's good at getting tries against Georgia, England and Fiji yes.Tichtheid wrote: Tue Jan 21, 2025 10:28 pm

Left hand down a bit
My feeling too. Only variable I can see is if Italy are able to reproduce and/or better their performances from last year, when they beat Wales and Scotland and were denied victory against France by a questionable refereeing decision.sockwithaticket wrote: Mon Jan 20, 2025 4:02 pm It'll finish up:

I'll always be optimistic about England, but everything quoted is very realistic, we're getting closer and closer to Italy's first victory over England, could easily be this time.Lobby wrote: Wed Jan 22, 2025 10:54 amMy feeling too.
