The lack of ambition and skill level in both sides was what stood out for me. I know watching Glasgow I'm more used to teams going for the 4 tries. Why Scarlets never took the risk at the end to go for the 4th and deny one of their table rivals a point was unbelievable. Edinburgh never in the whole match strung a run together without a mistake for more than about 25m advance so the chance of them going end to end was really low. Two guff teams with even lower confidence.
Can't wait to watch it

I get far more from watching my local club play in the 7th tier of Scottish rugby than I do watching Edinburgh
This is the first time in years I've not watched the match after finishing my shift. Completely scunnered, particularly with their away form. Need to try to seamlessly switch support to Glasgow, who is should technically support anyway being from and residing in the Caley area.

Duncan Weir could do with some coaching from Euan Ferrie on finding distance when kicking to touch !

Weir getting that touchline conversion with no more than a couple of seconds pause, in these conditions... pretty good.

Baylis crocked in Bath's won over Sale. Shame, as he was looking lively. Finn came through unscathed by the look of it.

Arron Reed also lively for Sale.

Interesting squad update. They've found another Aussie in ProD2, among others.

Reed did look good, very lively and a very nimble runner.

Finn Russell is indestructible. Gets smashed every match and laughs it off

That'll be the stonemason in Finn? Despite his boy'ish good looks he is quite a hard nut having made it the hard way to the top.

I agree about Reed, a bit of Darcy in his play, brave but not quite the same step but faster in a straight line? He won't let anyone down if selected!

Nooooooo, don't say that!

Regarding the call ups, Bradbury must be seething, ban or not. Once yer oot in Toonie's estimation, it takes a hell of a lot to get back in.

Incidentally, I was watching Toulouse v Montpellier (Kinghorn excellent again) and Montpellier had a 24 year old lock playing for them, 6ft 7 and nineteen and half stones - his name is Tyler Evan Macgregor Duguid, born in Canada but he must have the lineage.

If Bradbury became a dominant performer week in week out he'd get in the squad.

It doesnae stop many others getting in - Schoeman is the second best loosehead at Edinburgh, albeit Venter isn't eligible yet. Gilchrist can't lead a dog when he's in an Edinburgh shirt (not the dog). Duhan just looks pissed off all the time. Crosbie, Ritchie and Graham have looked lively enough and Rae is worth his spot, but overall the Edinburgh team are pulling the average skill levels down in the Scotland squad.

I was saying elsewhere that the difference in the two sides is HUGE, despite the grinding-out win in the 1872 second leg - Glasgow put out a C team and beat a decent Connacht squad. Edinburgh should gub the current Scarlets side but don't.

Everitt needs to go before any more damage is done to really talented young players coming in, the likes of Currie would thrive at Glasgow, same with McConnell and the other youngsters. Perhaps the entire coaching staff and the older players should go too.

Duhan, Schoeman, and Gilchrist get picked because they're reliable Scotland performers? Bradbury never was a reliably quality performer in his playing for Scotland either. And big Boan will be in Scotland squad the second he's qualified too.

I do agree that's a clean out of Edinburgh's coaches and senior pros is overdue. But Bradbury is just a league average backrow who didn't realise his potential sadly. Don't think Scotland are missing a trick not picking him.

The difference in the likes of Jones or Darge in playing under a competent coach is incredible.

Nobody picking up on this - for context he's been added to the squad. Plays in D2, 23, massive, Scottish mum.

23 and playing second tier in France doesn't inspire much confidence, but it's slim pickings in the second row for us so we'll take him.

Not sure this one is a case of "what if". He's had plenty of chances, just doesn't seem to have that final mental hurdle. Hardly a criticism really, neither do most other rugby players.

I disagree on that one. He showed he had it in him but seemed to take the easy way out. He's shown he has real quality at times.

Stay in the comfort of Edinburgh too long. The debacle of being stripped as Edinburgh captain. Go away and perform decently for Bristol then come home and taken the easy path again.

We all I think have our criticisms of Toonie but one thing I think we can all agree is the man can pick a player. We might never hear of this guy again, but if he comes into more than one training squad, or maybe even makes a match day squad, he’s probably got something.

Speaking of Jack Mann - he has signed a contract for next year for Gloucester

The budget cuts are hitting Glasgow hard, Glasgow now very much a selling club, desperately disappointing for such a promising player

I suppose while we get to celebrate players like Sione T and the Fagersons signing new contracts the money pot only stretches so far and there will be the inevitable disappointments like this and Tom Jordan moving to Bristol.

Still a disappointing one though.

Only Zander has signed a new contract - Matt's contract renewal is still on going.

Since the 2023/2024 season to this season - Glasgow will have lost.

Kebble , Turner , Gray ,Jordan, Thompson, Dell, Pieretto, Peterson, Sordoni, Brown, Manjezi, Gordon, Price, and now Mann

Yes and no. I just think Bradburys ceiling was so much higher than others who didn't have the mentality which is what makes it a "what if". The draw in Twickenham was one of the better number 8 performances. Had everything you'd want from an 8, great pressure relieving pick ups, hard carries, pace to burn for an 8 etc. He had that in him and squandered it.

He really should have been a regular international and with Lions potential IMO.
