Graham Henry talks Bledisloe 1 at Wairarapa Bush Clubrooms
Fascinating video. Basically Graham Henry says Dave Rennie should be the NZ Coach.
Wait till Foster finds out...
Though I think it premature to say Rennie has turned Aussie around after one match. Remember Perth last year...

It’s the most promising start for a Wallaby coach against NZ since Michael Cheika. Before him you have to go all the way back to Robbie Deans to find an Australian coach who started his reign with a win over NZ.
I suspect all the Wallaby fans will be very conscious of another false dawn but this time certainly feels different.
If Australia win at Eden Park.. I'll be on the bandwagon!Ata Rangi wrote: ↑Wed Oct 14, 2020 11:37 amIt’s the most promising start for a Wallaby coach against NZ since Michael Cheika. Pretty telling that he lays blame squarely with NZR. How they were meant to keep in touch with kiwis overseas and just stopped doing it

Interesting that Henry would hold that view when he had a major role in the recruitment process.
At the very least, I would have thought he would easily come to the conclusion that Hot Robertson was a superior coach to Bananas Foster.

Perhaps a reference to other rugby organisations identifying their man and going after them early.Monkey Magic wrote: ↑Wed Oct 14, 2020 9:52 pm Pretty telling that he lays blame squarely with NZR. How they were meant to keep in touch with kiwis overseas and just stopped doing it
Raelene Castle already had Rennie locked in the Wallabies job in early 2018.
NZR waited until after the 2019 world cup concluded to send out expressions of interest to overseas coaches (Rennie included), of course this was far too late as all those coaches in question had already made other plans by then..
I heard him at a luncheon a year or two back and he couldn't talk more highly of Rennie. Our best technical coach with a great team ethos.

Henry was vocal about his disappointment in there being only two applicants so this is consistent with that. I suspect we’ll never know his true thoughts on foster vs Robertson but i would love to hear them.Jimmy Smallsteps wrote: ↑Wed Oct 14, 2020 10:12 pm Interesting that Henry would hold that view when he had a major role in the recruitment process.
